.why do the Panthers always seem to have such a difficult time properly evaluating talent ? if you have a player who has started since 2023 & in that time have amassed a mountain of film for reference & also seen on a regular basis in practice.then yes most defenitely going into year 3 you should have a pretty good idea of what you have in a player .if not, then being an NFL GM might not be your actual cup of tea

It’s not just the panthers FO/coaches. Look at people on this board, or almost any of the talking heads.

everyone has their different reasons for staying on this sinking ship. Whatever you speculate as the reason at the top of the Panthers organization probably has some truth in it.

when the owner picked the qb, and he picked a coach to train the qb, and everyone on the team knows you can’t criticize the qb, here we are.

thats all Tepper really wants more than anything else is to be is right about the Qb he played a huge role in trading up to #1 overall & selecting in Bryce Young .& he obviously does not care how many seasons he has to waste in an attempt to prove that he was righ.so yes its more about being right than winning with Tepper & that's why I talk so much about his ego when I talk about Tepper

however , the problem with the Panthers is much greater than just the Qb.the Panthers currently have assembled once again the least talented roster in the NFL & as a result have way more many issues than just Qb moving forward..just saying

Young wasn't drafted by Canales.  Canales shouldn't be held accountable until he can hire his own DC and draft his own QB.

Dave Canales was always going to be a lottery ticket.  Odds are against success but there was a small, tiny, itty bitty chance it could pay out.

At this point he’s the crumpled scratchy lotto ticket you find in the parking lot.

DC was hired to fix Bryce young. He has failed at that.

he has shown nothing that indicates he should be able to draft a qb or hire his own DC.

Who would he even hire? Who do you think Canales can call up and convince to take this job? What personal relationship can he leverage? Is there another evangelical masturbation enthusiast he can holler at

but but Tepper sucks, Canales sucks, receivers can't get open or catch, o-line can't block, defense sucks, and the special teams sucks. A young QB can't thrive in those circumstances.

The "boy wonder" will not thrive anywhere. Back up or mop up duty is his high ceiling.

Rivera went 6-10 and 7-9 his first two seasons with an infinitely more talented roster.  Recency bias is absolutely absurd with this fanbase.

These are heights Canales has not and won’t reach.

infinitely more talented, eh?

who are the equivalent players to Brown and Horn on the defensive side of the ball in 2010

Cam Newton, Jordan Gross, Ryan Kalil, Jon Beason/Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis, most of the entire defensive line, Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, Jeremy Shockey, Jonathan Stewart, and Deangelo Williams are all obscenely more talented than their counterparts on this roster.... oh, and Rivera didn't have a sociopath owner of the team.

"Heights" meaning one more win???  With somewhat competent QB play OR a defense that wasn't giving up 200 yards a game on the ground this team easily wins 4 more games last season.  Bryce Young is not it.  I assure you that it is not Canales' decision to keep or release Bryce Young.  Only David Tepper will be making that call.  If you think otherwise you've been wearing blinders since that moron bought the team.  If you recall, Tepper also made the decision to keep Evero.  The same applies.  Until Canales can actually build the program he wants (not the program that Tepper wants) he has absolutely no chance at success.

How do you or I know who he can or can't call up?  That question doesn't even make sense.  Of course he has relationships.  What matters is building YOUR team.  I don't know if you've ever been a part of a team, sports or otherwise, but I promise you goals are not achievable when you assemble a team of people that don't know how to make each other better.

Bryce Young cannot be made better.  He doesn't have the basic tools.  Of course he was brought in to try to make Young better.  Any coach we hire would be brought in for the same purpose.  Again, irrelevant to the point, which is that coach has not been permitted to build his own operation.  If you or I were hired to some sh*tshow and forced to keep the people that made it a sh*tshow, I would expect it to run exactly the same under me, regardless of the scenario.
