Maybe he's still making it back from the injury or maybe it'll play out like BC where we all beg for him to be playing while they try to play anyone and everyone instead of him and then when he finally hits the field he plays way better than all the guys they insisted on playing ahead of him.

Never expected him to play this week.  Hasn’t worn pads in a month.  Gotta work his way back in.

I’d guess they knew they weren’t gonna play him this week and wanted the other guys to get the reps.   Just my best guess.
