Passing Stats

17/25 3 TDs and a pick not his fault.  68% is pretty good.

He spread the ball around to 7 different players.  I listen to some of the talking heads that want to make a big deal about Rico leading the team in receptions, but I think it his highly overrated.

I like that Bryce has been spreading the ball around.

Looking at the stat sheets I'm not sure why there's this need to downplay Rico to boost Bryce. I mean, Rico Dowdle has arguably been the best player in the NFL over the past two weeks.

Hard to argue with 200+ all-purpose yds. No doubt the best player on the field and arguably the best player in the league the last two weeks.

I just like that Young is getting the ball to open receivers regardless of what position they play.

Bryce needs a work load RB if you want to get the best out of him. I think its pretty clear on that at this point. Canales has certainly figured that out, overwhelming teams with the run and occasionally mixing in the pass when they dont expect  it can help a qbs efficiency a lot. Asking bryce to sling it when the defense knows it's coming is what has led to disaster in the past. Having him do less has led to more success.

Less be honest, we knew it's was coming. Bryce backers can't help themselves. A RB single hand putting up 400 yds in total production the last 2 weeks is somehow still gonna be second fiddle to bryce in their eyes.

Maybe we aren’t Bryce backers. We’re Panther fans who’s happy to see their young QB getting some help.

It’s the right formula for our QB1, but for a former number one overall pick whom we traded the farm for, I don’t think I can accept that (yet). I

I think it's reasonable to be happy that Bryce is playing better while supported by a RB playing like the best player in the league over the past two weeks but to downplay the play of that RB to boost Bryce just seems wild.

My point in the OP was that talking heads were making a big deal about Rico being the top receiver in the game.  We don't have or need to have a WR with 9 catches each game.  I'd rather our QB spread it around and make plays.

I don't seem to see anywhere this is nuthugging on Bryce.

The fact that Brycen Tremayne is 3rd in receiving yards on this team and he didn’t even have a catch yesterday is a little concerning.

I think he came into the game as the 2nd leading receiver so someone is making headway in receptions besides him.

The best thing for the panthers in the medium to long term is Bryce performing so badly there’s no way tepper can talk himself to ordering his extension.

I am indifferent to claims Bryce can still become more than a qb who can barely beat the worst teams into league with 200 yards from his rb. this is year three and he’s the same player he’s been since year 1.

    • I only wonder about the West Coast team playing on tne East Coast at 1pm factor and historically that has been worth a lot to the home teams. And maybe playing down to the competition that happens sometimes. And the crazy up down up down pattern we have been in this season.  I don’t bet on these things though.
    • I think the racist stuff is barking up the wrong tree with Tepper. He is all woke and stuff. Not that liberal white people can’t be racists they are in their way pretty racist.  Or can be,  I for sure agree about the yes man aspect and particularly apply that to Wilks.  I didn’t understand the Rhule hiring at all. Did not want. But down the line with Wilks, zi personally wanted him, and personally did not see the racism being a factor in the Reich hiring as much as the fixation with offensive minded play callers and copying that trendy model.  I am having a hard time calling to mind any Black coaches who were out there with the big offensive rep. At one time Byron Leftwich was a hot name who I liked. Don’t remember what happened there but he faded. Bienemy but I never believed in him much, personally.  I think Tepper basically excluded defensive guys and went for the top rated play caller OC types. And couldn’t get Ben Johnson and ended up settling with Reich.  Who ended up NOT being a yes man at all.
    • Someone like Steve Smith wouldn't have last half a season under Tepper.
