I don't think winning when looking like poo and making the same mistakes we always make is taking baby steps, it's just spinning your tires while stuck in the mud.

Growing pains by definition involve actually growing, something we can't seem to do under Canales, week after week of the same problems, that's not growth, it's a problem.

While I see your point, I'd like to push back on this a little. This is a franchise that has essentially forgotten how to win. Every win is a good thing for these guys. They could have easily said, "here we go again" in the 4th quarter, but they didn't. Sure, some coach decisions had me scratching my head, but they got the win, and that's never bad.

So since we not growing why do we have a winning record rn . Explain that please ?

Because we've played 3 of the worst teams in the entire league the past 3 weeks.

The Jets and Dolphins literally might be the 31st and 32nd best teams in the league, while the Cowboys have literally the worst defense in the NFL.

And we just eked by with wins in each of those games, if you actually think that's showing growth, then I don't know what to say.

The dolphins are hot garbage but the Jets are much better than that record shows. They have gone toe to toe with the Buccaneers, Steelers and Broncos who all lead their divisions.

Lol that’s not a valid reason . We were the laughing stock of the league the past few years now we better than other teams sound like growth to me . But it’s always them not us huh ? How convenient

I get it, but honestly, responses like this just frustrate me and showcase why we're such a bad franchise (and fan base).

We can't be celebrating bad wins just because they're wins, that's not going to actually improve the franchise's outlook.

Show actual on field improvement in a loss and I'm going to celebrate that 100 out of 100 times over showing regression on the field in wins against the worst teams in the league.

And that's not me asking for losses, show improvement in a win and it's even better.  Just saying that I'd rather lose in a game we show improvement than win games where we actually regress as a team, and I don't understand why that's controversial to say.

We also beat one of the best (statistically) teams in the league 30-0. Why didn't you mention that?

So you want to celebrate just not being the worst team in the league?

That to you is a good thing and worth celebrating?

For fug's sake, this is why this franchise has one of the worst fan bases ever, we just want to not be the worst team and that's good enough for us.

Talking about on field improvement your man needs work on press man coverage

So the player the entire fan base agrees was a home run draft pick, has something to work on during his rookie season, and because of that you're going to dismiss anything I say about the actual lack of improvement by the coaching staff and QB play?

That's just dumb, very very dumb.

To be fair this game went just about exactly the way I thought it would.

We basically just played our doppelgänger.

Bryce looked ineffective and flaccid.  And we shot ourselves in the foot trying to shove Chubba back into the fold.  Dowdle was still the more effective back. Coaching is to blame.

If the Jets had a QB they'd be pretty good (at least mid tier).

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
