Small minded response. Of course he's not going to get bigger. But if he shows continuous progress it MIGHT take him another year or 2 to reach a top 10 or so QB. We invested too much into him and he is not a bust and actually has better stats than CJ for the last 17 games. H'es not a bust he just may not be a #1 draft pick worthy but most aren't.

Bryce isn't actually showing progress.  Saying that is this season's' version of best deep passer in the league.  It's just gaslighting.

Bryce Young has been below average in every game this season but 2 games....same 2 games where Rico Dowdle channeled Bo Jackson and rewrote Panthers history.

Uh you can cut that down to 6 quarters. His first half against Miami was not too good.

Afraid so. The word in the question was excel wasn’t it?

Slippery in the pocket and somehow avoids big hits

I have a theory tho that defenders don’t really know how to tackle him since if they reach forward they’re generally going to get hands to the face called on them.

also the Hail Mary at the end of the half against Jacksonville was bizarre. A DB blitzing from the corner had a kill shot on Bryce and then just kinda stopped running. I wonder if they’re being coached against hitting him hard because it’d look so bad, even a legal hit, it’d draw a flag.

He’s actually got a good little dip/turn thing in the pocket. Pretty smooth little deal when you are about to get killed by some 6-4 300 behemoth. When he can’t do that move or roll out and gets drilled, he takes it like a man, much less grimacing than our previous #1 overall QB. He’s also an efficient runner when he’s decisive. Bryce is his best after a little 20 yard scramble. Gives him confidence that he doesn’t have as a pocket passer.

I think they are scared they are gonna hurt him.

To be fair it's in their best interest to keep him in the game.

Yeah I told a Cowboys fan that week don’t hurt the golden goose.
But he did well that day

You're telling on yourself with that last sentence.

That's THE WHOLE point...Baker, and Sam as examples given both had very good NFL arm talent.

Baker got CLEVELAND to the playoffs....Sam needed to develop mentally in my opinion. Neither lacked NFL measurables, or top end arm talent.

For as intelligent as Bryce may be, he's never going to have high end NFL physical traits, or consistent vertical accuracy, that limits an offense.

With that in mind, "what he does well" aka "processing" doesn't really matter because he can't consistently and accurately attack all three levels of a defense. He's yet to show it consistently.

He's a 15 and under threat, and good defensive teams sit on it. Thats why in the times we've seen Andy, whether with Reich, or Canales the passing game "all of a sudden" opens up.

I'm not saying Andy is "better" but I am not blind to the fact that he can "execute more" of the vertical aspects of an NFL offense.

Just look at the close out completion to Legette as an example, along with Legette's uptick in production last year when Andy played.
