Bryce Young has now played one full seasons worth of games since returning from his benching in 2024

I don’t get the CJ did bad so Bryce now looks better logic.
I hated the trade up to start with. Would not have done it for either of them
But once it was done CJ was the better NFL prospect to me. I would bet on him again if those were the two choices
Him failing doesn’t  mean anything  one way or the other in relation to Bryce.

Because its a cop out with no room for nuance at all. It ignores every other similarity and just size to talk about size. Brees had worst year 3 stats than Bryce and by this forums take on the subject that should have been the end of his career. If you mention Brees its "he doesn't count because he is a HoF" if you mention Baker its "he's taller than Bryce" despite literally having way more batted balls.

Now we have Stroud trending down where does his size play into that?

Please makes the Brees poo stop.

Well hold on let's pause for a second and establish some things first since we're on the subject of "cop outs with no room for nuance".

Our own QB has 37 games under his belt. Many of them are either subpar or just plain bad. We only just this past Sunday won our 2nd road game in his career. But months and months of contentious discussion since his rookie season has largely resulted in the oft used argument that Bryce Young's struggles were due to the coaching and players around him and ultimately he couldn't be blamed. But now apparently it seems like you folks have fully tossed that out and are actively blaming Stroud while wholly omitting contributing circumstances around him. So which is one it?????

As far as Brees. Look I've got to be direct here. I cannot stand that guy. But I would have to concede that he had a significantly better arm than Bryce Young. I mean it's not even close. Plus as much as it annoys me to say it's clear Drew Brees wasn't afraid to hit the weight room either.

And Baker has obviously always had arm talent that showed on the tape even when he was struggling or being a tool.

Acknowledging all of this is the first step in gaining a firm footing in reality with the rest of us.

There just isn’t any reasoning with some of these Bryce Stans. I appreciate you fighting the good fight though.

Not this drew brees poo again.  Goddamn you fuging stans are the worst.

again there are 3 options for bryce after this year

1.pick up the 5th

2. extend him

3. cut/trade

which are you in favor for?

Anish was on the OG podcast and he was getting the team talking points out there.  Of course mentions Jones, Baker and Sam.  While not acknowledging the number of years and different teams it took just for them to play like they are and not acknowledging the wasteland of first round qbs that never got better.

For every one Darnold there are 35 Kenny Picketts, Trey Lance, Fields etc.

Joe tried to push him on his Bryces mediocre play and its not like a #1 overall pick, he wasnt having any of it just keep saying hes only 24 years old.  Saying what the team has been leaking for 2 weeks, he just needs more time.  Ugh, brace yourself for a extension and they sell it as he is our guy and we got him on a deal before he blows up

I don’t want to say I’ll quit because maybe he shows better. But that is extremely depressing to consider.

3  - maybe 6 games in his career that he has not been pretty much something to overcome. And that might be generous. 1 from year one. A couple last year a couple this year where he was not a fuging millstone.

I mean look at our drafting. We are a team that bases way too much of its decisions on those outliers.

I can see it happening but that might cause my fandom to go into hibernation.  It's hard to say.  It would deflating though.

I stopped for about a year and a half and only read and kept up a little because I was so pissed about Tepper and Rhule. I got sucked back in, 2022 and we started doing well with Wilks. And then this poo was put on us. I knew what we would be looking at with this QB after ten minutes of video. And they did it anyway.
2.5 years to get back to where we could beat bad teams.

You want to see... MORE... of the Atlanta game from Bryce this year?

You mean the game where he had 121 yards passing on 24 pass attempts and no passing TDs?

I think this is a perfect example of too many fans getting too excited about winning games and not actually registering what they're seeing on the field not being good football.

We won that game 30-0, yes, but it was not because of Bryce or anything he did

I was told that winning is all that matters...

My fandom all but gave up after Week 1 of Bryce's rookie year.  I tried to get on board once we made the pick, but I felt my views of him were proven right really fast and it made the last 2 years near impossible for me to care about.

Something seemed to bring me back in the fold this offseason though, can't quite put my finger on what it was though.

Bryce Young is a good young talent at QB.  Some people on here can’t get past an ego and admit he has clearly improved.  Nobody can question this guys character and work ethic.  He ain’t perfect and even I question things but giving up seems premature to me.  Guy is 24 yrs old.

So what's your solution moving forward?

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
