Worst case scenario for us and also the most plausible

I predict the next reasonably "good" game bryce has you will see Fowler or Kaye write an article floating the idea that dan/brandt are kicking the idea around about extending.  I think you can take that to the bank all things considered

Also gotta think Bryce and his “camp” are nervous about what happens if Dalton balls out like Bryce hasn’t done all season.

They only need to worry if Dalton is limited to 1 game.  He has shown he can come in and light it up for 1 game.  Last year he paved the way for Bryce to return after that 1 game.

I don’t think there is nearly the level of conspiracy about this as people are assuming. DC and his staff probably do think Bryce is their best chancs to win because, well....they have been winning and the results have worked out. Why tinker with it?

I don't agree but I can see pretty valid reasons why most coaches wouldn't make a change unless they had to.

As fans, our "had to" threshold is quite a bit lower.

They ought to be.

If Dalton is playing without a cane he will probably smoke Bryce.
He did in both week three games (when he was fresh).

It's a coin flip. If Bryce sits out the toughest part of the schedule and the corpse of Andy Dalton plays like a decrepit old man, (very possible) the narrative is, "The team was winning  with Bryce!" Sitting out the rest of the season with a winning record intact is a very savvy "skip the combine" type move.

On the other hand, if Dalton visits Barry Bonds' pharmacy then shows up on Sunday all hooped up on Jolt Cola and Fun Dip and the offense looks noticeably better, it might be the writing on the wall in regard to Bryce's extension.

Interesting times.

There haven’t been any big games.
Is this like big time throws?

I would argue strongly that there are no big time throws without big games.
The definition of whatever they are quantifying is fuged.

Even if it is his biggest game (why?) there isn’t anything big time about it.

Elimination games in season.
Clinching games in season.
Post season playoff games.
That is it as far as what big games are.

I suppose a division showdown  game could be considered big but that will likely fall into the elimination or clinching regular season bin.
IMHO.

I don't think it's quite so black and white. There are other examples, and sometimes it's just a you know it when you see it kind of thing. 2013 we had a MNF game against New England in November, they were coming off a bye at 7-2 and we were 6-3 coming off a close win against the defending NFC champ 49ers. That was about as big of a game as it gets and to me was one of the most defining and important wins and games of Cam's career and that entire core from 2012ish through 2017 (our best stretch in team history). Doesn't fit any of your categories and even in a vacuum losing there wouldn't have mattered all that much being an out of conference game in November, but that game mattered a ton for the team and our confidence and swagger. Another example being @Seattle in 2015, huge game and win against a team who it seemed like we'd never beat at the time.

But otherwise I agree with you, I don't view this Bills game as a big game, and I don't think Bryce has had any big games in his career yet.

Yeah but last year thielen got hurt in the raiders game and didn’t play until Bryce was back.

Diontae stopped taking his meds and wasn’t really a factor either.

Most of daltons stretch his top receiver was XL.

Okay. Agree

Obvious Measuring stick games should be included.
Like going to Seattle and proving we could beat them there.
Good enough.
This isn’t any of that though.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
