It was completely pathetic for all these sports leagues to embrace gambling the way they have. A stain on all these sports.

Yep. I watch my Hornets games where, you ask?  The FanDuel Sports Network.

Damn 😬

Hard to imagine only two people involved in something like this so I wonder if there will be more arrests coming.

My memory isn't what it used to be but I'm not sure I remember a story of an active professional head coach being arrested before, and alongside a player for another team is wild.

Would be surprised if it ends here. I think they are going to uncover a huge gambling ring.

It's funny - when Gilbert Arenas got arrested a few months ago, he said he was going to snitch out others. I'm curious if Billups and Scary Terry do the same

The NBA lottery needs to be investigated while we're at it

Don't need an investigation for the lottery. Everyone knows that has always been funny business. Too bad the Hornets don't have a top player to trade away and be rewarded with a #1 pick. Of course, being the Hornets, they would find a way to even fug that up.

Two completely different things. Rozier told people he was going to leave a game hurt. Billups was playing poker.

Oh, I think that is selective.  I mean, everyone can't do it.  Just like with everything else.  Only select folks are allowed to be bad.  They will try to weed out the random people trying to get in on things, it can't be a big thing everyone can get in on.

I mean, isn't it pretty well acknowledged the mob back in they day influenced outcomes of sports?

I don't know why it wasn't included in the Goodfellas movie, but Henry Hill (played by Ray Liotta) and Jimmy Burke (Robert De Niro) ran a point shaving scheme with the Boston College basketball team in the late '70s.

By the looks of it, Dallas may have F'd up with that number 1 pick with how awful Flagg looked yesterday

I'm a UNC fan and seeing Flagg flop would be entertaining to me but burying the dude after one game seems a bit quick on the trigger.

Why in the world would Rozier who has made 100+ million dollars need to tip people off to bet 200k? Isn't his dad a piece of poo? Likely that his dad roped him in to "hooking his buddies up" and he did it because he wanted to make his dad proud or some poo. Makes no sense

We are new to this because we are new to widespread LEGAL gambling. Look at the history of gambling scandals in soccer, rugby, cricket, etc. It's always been around.

I think it just makes it worse.  There's more money in it now.  But yeah.  1919 World Series was rigged around gambling.

And every fuging broadcast has betting lines in graphics everywhere, guy at the free throw line better make sure everyone knows the odds that he makes it and sees the advertising for free $50 in bet credits if you make an account and bet $1000 in your first week or whatever the hell it is. Just a disgrace
