I have no idea how anyone could watch Bryce play and come to an honest conclusion that he would "make more throws than" basically *insert name of another QB on an NFL roster*.

Dalton has literally made more throws over the same time period. And that isn't a glowing Andy endorsement. It's a damning statement about Bryce.

Bryce has played a big role often in our losses. He can lose a game in the first quarter.

I agree  too, I dont think though its because hes a gunslinger.  Dalton in the late part of his career can do that and it can lead to turnovers which could cost us.  Dalton needs to not try to go out and win the game, just manage the game.

I would say Dalton is Bryce +10-15%.

So, basically almost what you are saying.

Depends on which Dalton you get. We did this last year and I vouched for Dalton and he delivered. I don’t know what to think this year.
Not as confident, even thought the team around him is a little better I think.

It’ll be all over but the crying in 24 hours.

this is a disingenuous take.  Bryce isnt gonna blow yer mind with a 60 yard strike in stride like cam did to Ted Ginn vs the raiders (still one of the most impressive throws I've EVER seen, goes dramatically overlooked).  That said, something like his side arm tight window to legette last game is an impressive throw that I dont think Dalton makes AT THIS point in his career.

Disclaimer: I am not a bryce dick rider.  He absolutely should have improved in SO many areas by now that he hasnt.  However, he is a middle tier QB in the NFL right now, denying that is just not being honest.  I would even agree he hasnt shown to be a franchise QB.  As of right now, his best comparable NFL qb to me is Alex smith.  A qb you'd be  alright having if he wasnt the #1 overall pick.

He's definitely not a mid-tie starting QB. Mid-tier among all rostered NFL QBs maybe.

The issue is it's hard to make a career on 5-7 good plays a game and the rest being average to well below average.

At this point, Bryce's issues seem to be....mostly Bryce. Not all, to be sure. But way too many.

I also disagree on the tiers. Not to hang up on you I just put him like maybe bottom - uh let’s say we have 3 tiers. His normal game is bottom tier. I’ll give him the top of the bottom.
he ups his game and he can move into the bottom third of the middle tier.
If he wants to go any higher he has a few games coming up where he can prove he deserves that.

Painful part about Bryce is he is sort of risk adverse and still implodes games.   It’s easier to swallow with a PJ Walker

Dalton can probably muster up 1-2 games.   He is his too old and washed to have out there long

    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
    • Darnolds OC when he was drafted was Jeremy Bates who was fired. He hasn’t had an nfl job since then. his next head coach was Adam gates who was fired after two years and isn’t in the league anymore. then he gets traded to the Matt Rhule panthers. His first OC was a hired WAY too early Joe Brady who was fired midseason and basically had to restart his career as a get back coach in Buffalo. then it was Jeff Nixon, who’s currently the head coach for Syracuse. the next season was the best he’d ever looked, and it was the first time he had an actual nfl offensive coordinator calling plays for him. The less said about Matt Rhule the better. then he sits a year and ends up in Minnesota and the rest is history. maybe he just had poo awful coaches for the start of his career. Maybe we should be trying to find someone who flamed out on the jets. one who’s a religious weirdo  and likes to bang married women  that’s right baby, Zach Wilson redemption tour starts now
    • Your last paragraph, painful. We suffered it all with Rhule and Fitterer and were rewarded with Bryce.  I’ll stop there, I have made hundreds of posts that say what I would say if I continued. 😂
