He is still a young man. Still prone to acting like it. He will eventually grow out of some of that foolishness

That is the sort of thing that could blow up on you in a bad way. I mean if anyone is looking for a reason to mess with his job that could be made into one.

Some of the people making comments were funny as hell and I don’t mean the nasty ones. There are some funny people in there.
If you are gonna be all sensitive maybe don’t read them

I'm 38 can't say I know any 36 year olds who would get that hot at a mascot playing around

It is pretty weird. Yep. I was probably starting to chill by then. Early 30s though I did equally foolish stuff and probably worse.

He is 36

To me that is still a young man. I admit when I was 36 that wasn’t my opinion

He is closing in on that change though.
everyone is different. We probably all known people that seemed fully mature in their 20s.
Cam is still acting like a big kid though it seems like. As if I know him right, it is just my impression.

I had to watch it again. Whoever has on that outfit is going to hear it for a few days around campus lol. Gave me Happy Gilmore vibes. Kinda looks like they were playing.

He knocked his hat off .... and cam smacked the fire out his ass... he'll prolly keep his job but im wondering could the mascot guy have a case out of this?

couldn’t see in the phone screen if Cam hit or slapped the guy but I figured slapped because he remained conscious lol.

Anyone can make a case out of anything.

The mascot will or could be getting pressure from the school to not make it a case because of the financial benefit they get from association with ESPN.
And ESPN can push or bury, depending on how they feel about Cam’s future as an on air asset.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
