It basically means the people who say any stats that show Bryce as decent are bogus are now going to say this stat means we are bad no matter what our record ends up being.

Bro we have eyes. They saw Sunday and they saw just one week before.
GWD is a weak stat to base a player grade on it should really be a team thing.
But at any rate we can all see how the QB plays each week. I don’t know why we even need stats at all to be honest. At least for these evaluation purposes. I mean, in GWD you have to look under the hood to make sure you aren’t getting sold a bill of goods.
They are fine for keeping records of yards and completions and points given and allowed and fumbles and so on.
For defense yardage is a bad indicator of rank for instance.  You can build a nice looking house of cards on yards allowed; if you play from ahead you are likely to give up more air yards than rushing. The farther ahead, the more air yards. For one instance. So what it it telling you? Not that you have a bad pass d all the time.

Oh yes I remember this now, in 2015 Seahawks fans were all going on and on about their DVOA dominating ours before our playoff matchup. In that case it didn’t work out in their favor. Do you know how accurate these are through the years?

It’s not meant to be predictive model, but there are a lot of people that take it into account.

its value to me lies in its universality and how you can compare different teams across different years.

and on a long enough timeline, everything regresses to the mean. That’s statistics.

Yeah another outlet talking about regression and how overall the panthers passing offense is anemic

Though the Panthers’ pass game went berserk in Week 11 against a Falcons defense that has apparently given up on the 2025 season, they didn’t produce a ton of air yards. Their 293 air yards ranks 12th on the week. It was well above their season average but likely more an illusion than a sign of things to come. Carolina has the league’s second lowest pass rate over expected this season. Since Week 5 they are a rather stunning nine percent below their expected pass rate, by far the lowest in the NFL. I don’t think any Carolina pass catchers are reliable outside of Tetairoa McMillan. I’m probably not breaking any news there.

Hey if they finish 2nd in the division and get that second place schedule next year, might be some regression from the already below average.
God forbid they play a 1st place schedule next year lol. It will be a fun few weeks here if that happens but man we will pay for it big time.
