Another example of Bryce playing chess that casuals wouldn’t notice or appreciate

102 yards. 0 TDs. An INT. A fumble.

His biggest plays are negative plays. Getting your ass carried while being a burden isn't "contributing".

Yeah he's the reason we weren't up by td's at that point lol, DC having to get creative just to get into field goal range and then immediately trusted his rookie kicker. to kick a 48 yarder in the wind rather then let Bryce try and complete a couple 5 yard play action passes to get in better position when Green Bay had their whole fuging team in the box to stop Dowdle lol. Twice in a row. If it was already under 40 I'd get just running to set up the hashes but jeez..

The crazy thing about football is it’s a team sport.

But one position can make or break the game.

And one of the best ways in doing that is by not giving the ball away and being able to run at 4-5 yard clips. Throw in a couple passes and next thing you know you’re in the red zone. Playing this way limits possessions to other(more dynamic) QBs too. And if your defense plays well that could equate to between 4 and six series. If you’re running that efficient, you can say, split the offensive production with the run or the pass. So by attempt byce accounted for his half of the yardage and Rico did too. Rico also managed to punch it in at the goal line. And you gotta give it to our oline and they’re running blocking and that’s without TMO!

so the truth is, Canales and management figured out how to use Bryce’s strengths to compliment this run game to cover up his weaknesses in a way that is efficient. And our defense showed improvement against pretty formidable opponent the week after andy dalton gave it to buffalo.

They are putting winning football on the field more often, and we are slowly becoming better each week. I hope they can keep it up.

Nowhere in the league is a winning formula for the RB and the QB to have matching yardage rushing vs passing. Have you ever heard of multiple 2k yard rushers across the league? How about a 3k, 4k, or 5k yard rusher? Nope? Because they don't exist. Running Rico into the ground is not an effective offensive game plan for the rest of the season. Relying on a running back to carry your team instead of your QB is not long term winning strategy.

Yeah, even on that one twitter video bragging about Bryce tricking them into thinking it was a pass play on 2nd and long on that final drive, Micah Parsons was straight up saying they were playing pass all the way because in the NFL that's a passing down all the way in that situation. They didn't think there was anyway the Panthers were running the football there. Bryce didn't trick anyone. We just did the unthinkable because the unthinkable was a better option than Bryce throwing the football.

You’re not, you’re relying on both your QB, your run game, Your defense and your special teams.

hence the part where I explained that limiting time of possession by playing ball control offense and defense has been a winning formula in football for a century.

sorry.. should have clarified more for the simpletons

If he did trick someone good for him. It reminds me a little of Cam saying oh you been watching film…. Which is where the Cam comparisons stop, but good for him. That’s why he was the 1.1.

Credit where credit is due but defenses won’t be fooled by that all that often now that they know the tactic.

Does insulting people by calling them simpletons make you feel better?

. I'm not saying Bryce lit it up, but he was crucial in the win. Particularly the last drive. Canales was playing for the FG after that. Had to make himself look smart for not deferring after winning the coin toss.

What? Damn man, low for you.

go ahead lock him up carolina 80 mill a year easily.  only reason rico does so well is bc other teams fear the byoung passes.  they never stack the box bc byoung will always go deep on them easily passing for at least a buck fifty a game maybe even 200 yards.

Pie, you did that without calling anyone a simpleton, a hater, a casual, etc.

I don’t think Bryce is dumb or doesn’t know the QB position, I just don’t think he has the physical tools needed to be a great QB.

Maybe if he can learn to move around in the pocket to give himself throwing lanes he can improve, but throwing 102 yards in a game isn’t going to cut it against many teams. He just doesn’t seem to have any arm strength.

Not playing devils advocate.  The staff clearly has recognized you have to take Bryce out of it and Rico is our best chance to win.  That play illustrates it.

and all that window dressing most likely was not a Bryce Young original.  But the thought process of a staff that knew Rico had to get the ball.

it’s the never ending search of trying to make Bryce look good.

The same way they kept drafting tall receivers to cover Cam overthrowing the ball?
