Cam didn't clean up his footwork until the very end unfortunately.

But Cam Newton also didn't need 40 career starts to finally showcase his worth as a #1 pick. Completely different situations.

While true Bryce is pacing an almost duplicate of Cams third year *passing* stats not close to total effect or rushing. Although I dount we will hear the end of it if he makes the playoffs in his third year like cam.

Newton was a Brett Favre style OMG-WTF quarterback, capable of throwing one pass that made you go "OMG" and immediately following it with one that earned a "WTF".

Bryce doesn't throw that many OMGs, some WTFs but probably fewer than his biggest critics think.

And that’s where a lot of people struggle to see it with Bryce

Bryce is never physically going to “wow” anyone. Which will ultimately keep him out of that elite QB tier.

Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Maye, Stafford

People want to put Herbert in that tier because he’s the ultimate highlight type QB. Highlights in this day and age trump just about everything. I’m more inclined to put Dak in that category than Herbert.

Then there’s the tier before the elite group. That’s where I believe Young’s ceiling is. Which is fine. You better have a good team and a good coach around these types though.

I believe Bryce has a higher ceiling than Goff. Put Young on Detroit and that team has a higher ceiling. Would also have a lower floor but you’d take that.

Bryce doesn’t have many true ‘wtf’ moments. He definitely did his rookie year. Granted the bulk of his “supporting cast” and HC are out of the league now and were well on their way out when the arrived here.

Due to lack of physical traits and what made Bryce good at Bama this NFL thing was and still is going to take time with him. He’s adjusting to NFL defenses.

So sure, we’re kind of in a pickle. Do we keep Bryce and have something like the 10th best QB in the league paired with Canales whose ceiling is probably similar at his position or do we keep doing what we’ve been doing since 2017? This team has been an absolute mess since Tepper took over. He’s finally seeing some wins. I’m all for spending a day 3 pick every year on a QB with traits. But for the time being Young is definitely our best option in 2026 and it would be tough to imagine us having a better option at this point in 2027 as well

I know how much the huddle loves charts but this wasn’t happening his rookie year. This chart is 2 weeks old but point remains. It’s also why I said Dalton would be useless against Buffalo. Bryce has done a real good job at avoiding sacks this year and then making something happen. Bryce is fully capable of giving you those 4-5 big plays you need from a QB a game. Those 4-5 big plays just look a lot different than the 4-5 big highlight type plays you get from those physically gifted QB’s

I'll say Bryce Young is giving me whiplash!  Plays well, plays like poo, plays well...  Its the cycle of Bryce Young!

I'm really happy with the win Sunday.  Some of y'all are just miserable people.  Do I think Bryce is HIM though?  Nope.  He's really freaking inconsistent.  That a player AND coaching issue.  I didn't get a chance to watch the game, how was Bryce's vibe early on?  What he chill and calm or a little fired up?

I'm think that we are going to roll into 2026 with Young and Canales.  I hope we do pick a traitsy QB to develop & push or we sign a hungry vet who wants to beat Bryce out.  I fully expect the Bryce cycle to continue next year as well.

Now could Bryce be "just" good enough to help us build a team, and then we go after a better prospect QB after we trade Bryce off (or let him walk, who knows what the future is?)?  Is Bryce our ultimate BRIDGE QB?  I don't know, sounds silly to type myself.  Happy Monday!

I'm just going to enjoy the after glow from a win I ended up watching on drive charts lol.

I was curious so looked up a trent dilfer stats and all from the superbowl and years around it... Byoung and trent dilfer are very simliar and both got 90% of their teams wins by the rest of the team doing what it had to to win despite of the QB.  who knows maybe the panthers make the playoffs go on to win the superbowl and Byoung will be talked about like dilfer is when people talk about his superbowl

This tells me rattler and mccarthy are way way better than I thought they were

    • You got that right  on replays, you could clearly see the Rams  oline holding over and over and over again
    • Careful.... you put him in the Louvre, he will get stolen.....
    • Because you don't bring in competition if you're paying your QB 27m. Look at what we did with Darnold and Mayfield. He's either your guy or he isn't. Hes not playing on the final year and most agents aren't going to let a 5th year stand. They'll push for the extension now. If we're willing to do the 5th year, why aren't we willing to do the extension? That's why I didn't care what the win loss record was this year. We needed to know if Bryce is the franchise QB or not. At the end of the year we have to make a decision that locks us in to Bryce for the next 5 or we move on. Now maybe his agent doesn't play hard ball with the Panthers, but I don't see that happening. Most likely we decide Bryce's future in Carolina at the end of this season. Extend, trade or cut. That's the most likely scenario based on history. Bryce's play over the past 3 years, are you paying him 50m a season? And who are you letting walk to do it? Give Bryce his extension and Icky is all but gone. Can't pay everyone on that line and there are too many bonuses that will be accelerated. It's not so simple as just play him on the 5th year.
