I’ve been more middle of the road with Bryce, sometimes even favorable, but I’m surprisingly still in the out camp.

His lows this last year were still just too alarming for me. No doubt he’s not going anywhere, but I’m  mjust a bit exhausted waiting for it to all get consistent and feel like comfortable, fun football.

It was tonight though (mostly)

That last drive kinda ruined the rest of his performance for me. Shitty play calling yes but, you gotta try something besides basically throwing the ball out of bounds three times in a row when you have 3 time outs to burn and you only need to get into field goal range. I 100% thought we would be willing to burn all 3 time outs to at least get into a position to kick even a 65 yard field goal but....

I am the biggest Bryce hater there ever was, but this game he grew up and became OUR franchise quarterback.  Bryce’s coming out party!

He's lost 4 out of the last 5 games, my dude.

No time for sympathy in the NFL. This is year 3 for him. He hasn't produced, again.

He's an easy way to boil it down.

Did you think he was going to march us down the field at the end of the game for the FG to tie it up?

Wish I would have been able to see the game yesterday. I can’t modify my opinion without doing that.

People said we went downfield more and were aggressive.

If I have one thing that is a dealbreaker out of all of it it would be the lack of a downfield game. That has been an issue since his first game in the league.

If we had one I would be a lot easier on him. Even though I would never have drafted him in the 1st round, and have viewed him as totally unworthy of the job we gave him these three years.

TLDR answer: No

Drawn out answer with thought and sentiment:  I like BY and wanted him to be good. He has shown some flashes that lead to me holding out hope that he could turn the corner but he ain’t it. Wish him well and as long as he is in a Panther uniform and our starting QB I will pull for him to prove me wrong.

Wanted to add to that post I made a few minutes ago, one thing.

My other dealbreaker.  When we get shut down in the run game and made one dimensional, we have to be able to break that strategy.  I am thinking he has yet to demonstrate he can pull that off and keep defenses honest.

Do I like Bryce? No.

But after that game, do I respect him? fug no fug that rich kid he’s been propped up his entire life.

He played solid. Was he great, no, but you look on social media, posts from PFF, ESPN, analysts etc. “panthers got their franchise guy!” Or “Bryce is for real” when it was just a standard solid game. Let’s ignore the 9 horrendous ones and 3 mid games. Also I’ve noticed when espn reads his stat line out they leave off his completions and INT. Normal they harp on those things. Whatever, at least he didn’t lose us the game, all I can hope for is he improves next year bc he’s here to stay.

I mean there were two things that couldn’t happen in the last drive. Bryce taking a sack or Bryce running around holding the ball for 10 seconds. One of them did happen…

His constant lack of urgency and understanding of the situation is infuriating.

if the play wasn’t there he should’ve just thrown the ball away.

Thats on Dave because Bryce doesn’t make any actual reads and just throws where the voice in his helmet tells him. Did you notice the rams starting to mill about on defense around in seconds 10 to 5 on the play clock? Thats because the headset cuts off at five seconds and whomever is telling bryce his reads doesn’t know where the blister is coming from. You’re gonna see that a lot next year.

Or scramble for 1 or 2 yards even and use on of those 3 time outs that we somehow didn't incorporate into that drive lol. So odd those first 3 play calls

Well Rico is talking like he is out. With that schedule next year & not being able to run the ball it might be the nail in coffin for bryce. Folks can get mad all they want but Rico saved this season with his big games. Yeah we struggled to run lately but we also lost 4 of our last 5. Its Clear what the strength was of this team this season that led to wins.
