Bryce Young's average stats over a whole season would be...

• Completions: 166
• Yards: 1,514
• Touchdowns: 11
• Interceptions: 7

Over a full 17-game season, this comes out to:

• Attempts: 468
• Completions: 313
• Yards: 2,859 (168 yards per game)
• Touchdowns: 21
• Interceptions: 13

In terms of yardage, this would rank as the 19th-best total in team history, only slightly ahead of 2006 Jake Delhomme (2,805), who missed 3 games. It would even rank behind 2023 Bryce Young, who threw for 2,877 yards in only 16 games.

The only quarterbacks who started a majority of a season in team history with worse passing numbers are:

• Kerry Collins (163 yards per game - 201 if you exclude a game he missed most of due to injury)
• Jimmy Clausen (145 yards per game over 10 starts)

This is statistically on pace to be Bryce's worst season ever. It's year 3. We have two good running backs, weapons at skill positions, and an offensive line that works. Zero sign of progress from a statistical perspective other than Bryce having a lot of game-winning drives. But guess who also had that? The Golden Calf of Bristol, and once the Broncos cut him they won a Super Bowl within a few years.

Where would this rank if spread out to only a 16 game season?

Because remember, this is only the 5th season of having 17 games, so even with an extra game over 26 of our seasons in franchise history and it still only would rank 19th best (and again, that's ignoring how some players didn't play 16 games in those other seasons like you said)

If Jameis was our QB this year for 17 games, T-Mac would have won OROY, there is no question in my mind about that.

The game winning drive thing -- If nearly all of his wins have to be game winning because we can never win by more than a score, that's not clutch.  That's just playing the odds.  

He's 8-9 in one score games, those 8's final drives were classified as GW.  But when you compare to the games when he had the same amount opportunity presented, it's a sub-500 metric.

We would legit be the Colts of the NFC with an average vet QB. Just look at both team’s philosophy and composition. 

Strong O-Line and run game with a bend, don’t break defense.

If we didn't yank him, he would also break his 30 INT season record. DC isn't exactly scheming guys open very often. You would see some WILD INT's.

I think at times Canales catches undo flack when he has called a pretty good game and it’s clear Bryce can’t execute the offense. And other times he fails to properly scheme for the opponent, and sometimes it’s a combination of the two. The game against the Saints was the combo of the two things to the most extreme degree. Now I’m wondering how much of a distraction the Rico Dowdle / Keegan Michael Key stuff was this week.

He should be benched but with Atlanta  this week he will have his yearly good Atlanta game and then his supporters will be back talking about how good he is still. Meanwhile, LA and SF lurk nearby and he will get a rude awakening (again)

I don't really buy the whole distraction/we overlooked them, any of that crap. We finally just faced a team that came into the game hellbent on forcing Bryce to beat us. We're gonna stack the box like cordwood no matter what. We're gonna take away the run and we know that might open up opportunities in the passing game but we're just gonna play tight, physical coverage and rely on them not being able to connect on deep passes. I'm just shocked it took until game nine for somebody to do it.

I mean, I generally have disagreed but at the rate Bryce is seemingly regressing, fug it.

I don't want to see a lot of TO's that nuke our D but this offense is seemingly broken beyond repair. 

Doesn't matter because we won't see any change but I am finally in that boat. Can't get enough worse to actually matter.
