Saw somebody post on X. “Canales coached not to get blown out, not to win” and that is the best way to describe tonight.

That's what you have to do with Bryce Young at QB. If the other team plays well you're gonna lose. You just have to go out there and not do anything to lose while hoping the other team doesn't play well. Then to ight we get three first half picks and drill only manage to turn that into three points.

I don't know that he even should get this level of credit. The way to not get blown out is to hand it to Rico 30 times and shorten the game. The plan today appeared to be, enjoy northern California and have fun playing at night, and not much more than that.

True. But then we’re gifted three interceptions. We still couldn’t make anything happen.

Oh my god lol

alright boys we got Bryce at qb we gotta go out there and punch everyone in the dick

The game would be closer if we did. Niners wouldn’t want to come off the sideline.

Speaking of which where’s that one guy from a few years ago who said the OL needing to start punching guys in the balls. He might have been on to something

Very accurate description. My only rebuttal is that Dave did nothing to keep the game close. Horn and Mike Jack helped us not give up another 14 or so points

Team is ass at this point.  To have any hope for next year Young and Canales have to gtfo.

Canales isn’t going anywhere. 6 dubs with Bryce buys a year. Morgan and Canales stay. You go into the year with Bryce Young and the village people at LB 6 wins is your ceiling. We are there and we still have 5 games left. It’s a fuging miracle.

    • He has one or two reads at best. This being the guy we drafted for this "processing speed". He just does not see the blatantly obvious open receiver ever. Just forces it into his first or second progression.
    • Well don't worry, I'm sure you'll get plenty more chances.
    • I don’t really want to give up on Canales because the team is getting better since he took over. I do think that is more due to Morgan than him. I think he needs to get his 3rd year for sure. I was okay with firing Rhule after his 2nd year because of the dysfunction and him really just being a dumbass. It was clear he hit his ceiling. I was okay with firing Reich because it was very clear he did not give a single poo anymore.    Other than Canales having to work with Bryce, the other issue is the job wasn’t attractive at the time, and Tepper wanted an Offensive Coach. Dave was just learning how to be an OC in Tampa when he became a HC here, he’s still learning to be an OC really and who knows maybe he will be a good one someday. He’s 11-18 with 5 games left. Rivera was 13-19 and even Shanahan was 10-22 after his first two seasons.    Year 3 will be telling for DC.
