David and Derek Carr on the Panthers video

First I didn't know they had a youtube channel; second I do not remember David playing for the Panthers but apparently he did; third, I didn't know Derek had a brother that also played in the NFL and finally fourth, it's a short video and there's realy nothing new here but it's great listening to them dissect plays from a QB perspective - especially if you look at some of the other videos.

Anyway, it's only a little over 13 minutes and defintely worth the watch.

I refuse to watch the OG 2 Gloved QB David Carr ever again.

But for the OP, Carr is the 3rd #1 overall draft pick QB that has played for us.   Well, the first.  We just didn’t draft that one.

but this post was informative. Now I understand why you have more tolerance than I with our current QB

To be honest I didn't post the video to support Young - he didn't need that for this week lol.

They have an older video on Sanders in Cleveland that is pretty good. It really gives you an idea of what goes through a QB's head during the play. And I think they are pretty honest with what he did right as well as wrong.

That's not David Carr. Where are the gloves?

I very much remember all the threads around the old Huddle about how David Carr was brought in as "competition" for Jake Delhomme. How we were somehow going to fix him after his stint with the Texans. And then we did get to see Carr on the field - thanks Tommy Jone - and he definitely looked like a guy that was seeing ghosts. Every time there was a hint of pressure, he'd run backwards and basically got himself sacked.

Oh, and I found this ancient thread. I kinda remember some of this.

The thing I remember about Carr the most is seeing him literally just take off running straight backwards. I've never seen anything like it.

I was younger then, so that's when I believed if you could get a former #1 pick you could probably just rehab him. (i.e. the Sam Darnold resurgence that ironically made a pit stop in Carolina)

It was 2007. Also, how did you not know they were related???

I think because they came from different eras, at least for me, I just never thought about it.

As people talk about him ( the glove ), I do vaguely remember him now. But it's very vague. Guess he just didnt't make an impression on my other than the gloves.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
