Renfrow is only getting targeted with catches he is just simply unable to make. He is getting the AT balls. He is not a contested catch WR.

Horn is more valuable in our offense because he adds an element that doesn't really exist with our other WR's. He is a speedy, agile guy that we can use to get a lot of YAC on these screens and glorified running plays. So he has tremendous value in that role. As a pure WR he is clearly not as refined as Renfrow.

Renfrow also isn't nearly as good as Coker at most aspects of his role.

He is on the bench because he is a redundant, less useful player in some regards. Especially when we don't have a "point guard" at QB like we were supposed to. Bryce doesn't exactly spread the ball around and definitely not efficiently.

Renfrow is just sort of a 1 of 1 on the roster.  No real comparable.  If you ask him to play like others he will be lesser.  You have to want to do what he does.  That was never the Canales O nor did it suit with Bryce.

I think there usage/development of Jimmy Horn has really stunk.  It's like they had one gimmick and then that was it.  Outside of that really random ball he caught early on.  But, scheming up gimmick Jimmy Horn plays is probably a bad use of a pass down given what our O is.  Really just need to keep it basic.  Progression should be Tmac, Coker and probably RB in the pass game as the big 3 pass options.

I don't think the usage of Horn is bad, it's basically taking one of your top 2-3 YAC guys and putting him in a position to make people miss.

Is it the best for his overall WR reps? No but it's a crowded WR room for not very many good or efficient targets being delivered.

If we had a higher efficiency, higher volume passing offense then Renfrow would have a lot more uses. He could be that David Moore role from last year of finding open areas while the defense is keying in on the better WR's.

But, we are also kidding ourselves if we think prime Renfrow is ever coming back. He is a shell of his former self and its unlikely he will ever return to that form.

Offensively Young cant sleepwalk or look like a deer in the headlights

he does tend to be hesitant and uneven with pressure

he cannot go into his shell   No slow starts

so same offensive formula that beat the rams. The Saints defense is still good but they are long in the tooth and they will tire

defensively, gap integrity and i would  do man vs zone

i would also have a spy on NO QB, he likes to run, make him pay

btw, this team is ascending with Kellen as HC  and his  26 year old rookie qb

if you cant beat the Saints, take your seat at the kiddies table

I think that is another problem with Bryce, he has to gain his confidence every game, seemingly.

saints will be starting a guy they just signed off their practice squad at RT for this game.

never like to see injuries but hopefully this is an opportunity for Scourton to make some splash plays.

I hope the poor guy has a full recovery, just not this week!
Our big guys have been good at getter pressure lately, we just need them to finish with sacks. A rookie QB behind a PS RT is as good a formula as any to get that done.

The last time we played them wasn't Canales was doing the cutesy 1 series per RB thing instead of rotating and going with the hot hand?

That corner/DB blitz also stopped Rico as well, Panthers just "let" a unblocked DB and they tackled well enough. Chubba is better on inside runs, youve seen Rico bust those off-tackle runs for 16 per clip. I hate them, but their game plan just was near perfect given the talent. Panthers haven't practiced against constant CB biltzs since its rarely used. Many times it heavily favors the offense since most teams run 3 WRs. Also you need the QB to see it......AND punish the play. Plus if 4 CBs are on the field, check to a run....

The part that Im worried about is, that game also showed how bad the the Panthers WRs were against man zone, cause with one less CB, you are on an island with WRs&TEs. The young WRs and TEs were up against mostly name-less guys(kool-aid looking good tho and dat name, lols) and they didn't seem to get open enough OR fast enough for BY. I hope Hunter is active, OL is healthier, and so is Chubba....that should help plenty.

I'd start the game going pass heavy, like in the second Falcons game, to exploit the heavy box sets New Orleans will undoubtedly start with. Then after building a lead and creating a tired Saints defense, punish the Saints with a very heavy run game, wearing them down more and churning out the clock.

    • There was a brief time where many in the fanbase considered if we should seek his services after the dumpster fire that was the Matt Rhule experience had us completely downbad. Such is the result of living with the Tepper's as owners.
    • I know Herniay, gettlegut, shittererererrer, shinkshipsefort never took a awful OL or DL and solved the problems more than one year flukes. The depth is about as good as ever too, Cam Jackson and JHH have been inactive main stays. Panthers have been protecting them for a big portion of the season, cause Im sure some team would claim them. Sam Roberts was like the 10th DLmen and failcons signed him to their roster before week 1 and he's been there since. When teams are signing your 6th string player to a 53 roster, thats a great sign. Its against my rules to judge rookie class in their 1st season, but they've injected this team with talent and energy. 21% change with youth that by the early looks many have enough talent to help the team. Thor was getting starter snaps before his awful injury and he's not included. This group was under Dan and Tils watch, they had to add a 2nd rounder to counter that BY trade. Trade-wise they have been on the clear winning side on all 5-6 of them, the AT one looks arrestable right now. No one bats 1.000 on FA moves, they have bought something to roster. Turk had injuries and not playing at his salary-level, but he's stepping up with leadership and busting his arse in the weight room. Boom is leading too. Rico broke some all-time records and was lava hot leading the NFC in rushing without many snaps. Moehring has upped the talent level and able to play close to LOS while guarding TEs.  They found Brycen Tremayne young perfect #4-5 WR that plays hard on STs. He a great blocker and I think he's can improve to a #3 type role given his young age and work ethic. He was the one that screwed up the WR numbers, no one had him making the team against 9 NFL WRs. The guy just busted his arse and made them roster him. Great under radar find, shame he's not gotten props. Early in the season he caught some big time balls too.  I think for sure they have improved this team and done so with youth. If they get another 12 or so players like this 2025 class in 2026......That may build for the the first time, a team that can go to the playoff year after year.
