I'm not in favor of continuing long term with Bryce, but today's game isn't a good one to cite as an argument against him.

This loss was a massive coaching failure, especially on the defensive side.

Bryce deserves a chunk of the blame. You can't win with a QB playing like he does reliably.  Yes it happens once in a while, but he's so incredibly inconsistent that you never know what you're going to get week to week.

He didn't lose us the game today or anything like that - the undisciplined mistakes of players did.

The coaching was shitty, but we have to ask ourselves why.  I am convinced a vast majority is because plays aren’t being made by the QB when they are there and Canales also limits what is called to tailor to what he and Bryce are both comfortable with.  Canales said as much about the deep passes.

regardless, a QB we traded the farm for still struggles to throw for 200 yards and make winning plays when it matters in his third year.  There are journeyman QBs, like a Jameis, who would’ve easily won that game.

He wasn't that good today and that final drive was damning. Running on 3rd down is rookie stupidity.

I havent been the biggest Byrce supporter but you guys using this game as a reason to scream Byrce are showing your bias.

Its not his fault defense couldn't get off the field on multiple 3rd and 14 etc and the Saints just drained the clock.

We say a team with an actual QB beat us. Bryce is always going to limit us. He limited us today and he will limit us next season if he starts.

Not for this game...

I'd rank our top issues this game as follows:

1 - Ejiro Evero

2 - Dave Canales

3 - Numerous players makig dumbass mistakes

Bryce is further down the list.

I'd probably put the players to #1, then Evero, then Canales and Bryce tied... but if you think Bryce is #4 I wouldn't really dispute that. I think he is really physically limited and it is showing in our playcalling.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
