He's not hamstrung by Young. He's hamstrung by his own intelligence or lack thereof.

Id just let BY contract run out or trade him, like evero he's already dealt with. I would bring back evero if he wants to be here, if his dream is HC, let him go and get a 3rd comp and hire a 3-4 guy.

If Dave doesnt want to grow without his BFF, fine he can go too....

Summary- No one that truly want or would be upset if they left, minus the OL gurus goodwin and gibert.

Check that Id also only want to keep- Josh Hingst new strength coach, I feel the team *overall has looked stronger (minus playing the fing saints......)

toss in Eric Eager, Im no PFF fan, but I do feel he's a big brain person with ideas worth listening too.

Just 4 guys Id really be upset about losing, others are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am saying Dave Canales for these reasons:

An upgrade at HC is capable of dealing with both Bryce and a new Defensive Coordinator. He can eventually can them both.

If it were that simple, Reich and Canales would have already done it. The next HC would have the same happen. If Canales is gone, I wouldn't be surprised if Tepper elevates Evero to keep him around with Bryce, Tremble and Chuba as agreed upon long term offensive pieces.

I believe Reich and Canales would have gone different directions at QB and DC if they were allowed. Wilks even made it known this organization doesn't make the HC the primary partner in personnel decisions. Before the HC even gets a chance it likely goes Nicole > David > Dan > Brandt > Eric > Benjamin 1 > Benjamin 2 > HC

I highly doubt hanging the HC wouldn't fix all the problems over his head.

I mean that dude is a nothing factor. Canales will never give up playcaling, IMO. Another on the laundry list of reasons to fire him. He is a bottom 10% tier offensive playcaller.

If he wasn't interested in getting an actual offensive playcaller in here(spoiler alert, he won't be) all the more reason to move on.

I agree 100%.

Just to add, ANYONE that wants to sign BY to some 300+ million nightmare/contract, they can kick rocks first.

Like you said, brad adds nothing. This is war, just bring in a bright forward thinking OC that's going to come up with new plays and ........a fing game plan to beat a 1-8 or 3-10 team...... challenge the defense to defend every blade of grass and evolve this team.... By my eyes Dave is just another Ron Fox wilks 4.2 with his only success being if the score is low and able to run enough...(minus one game.) fug that, thats another big issue, Im just sick of the coach hires, its too many since Rhule.

Dave has earned the right to stay, but.......If Dave doesn't want his pilates lover to go be a video assistant for underdawg or whatever betting site that gives him a salary. Peace out bro....

Peace Out Goodbye GIF

I don't agree with the "earned the right to stay" part. I think DC is a bottom 5 head coach.

If you want Young replaced you will have to dump Canales as well. New qb, new coach and possibly a new GM. The current 3 are tied together by 1 common thread. I'll let you figure it out.

Why do you have to dump Canales and Morgan?

They didn't pick Young, he was forced on them.

"Eventually?" Man, we ain't getting any younger, and life shouldn't be taken for granted. All of these no-count seasons will not get us our wish before we expire.

Bryce just seems like the biggest problem, and his exit is the biggest fix in the shortest amount of time (and, yes there are puns in there somewhere).

IMO, getting rid of Bryce will just reveal how bad Canales is. I would prefer getting rid of Canales so we can also get rid of Bryce. I view them as intrinsically linked at this point.

The obvious answer is Dan Morgan (go ahead and fire him now).  He has been here since 2021 and was responsible for the 2024 draft. If we fire Canales, who is going to want to come here? Evero will self-deport as they say. Let the new GM come in and find his own HC and QB and take part in the draft.

It would be bad to fire Canales after the team has improved from absolute trash to winning some games.  Especially given our recent history of hirings and firings.  I think its smart to give him another year, even if you're not sold on him.  Bryce is the next guy who's gotta go.

I wouldn't deny it would be a bad look. But I do think he has conclusively shown he is a not a good head coach.

If I'm picking between sticking with Canales with a new QB or Bryce with a new coach, I'm definitely picking Canales with a new QB simply because we've tried the Bryce with new coach route before. Been there done that.

My logic was hopefully a new HC would have a LOT quicker hook for Bryce. But, that is assuming they would even be allowed. I guess that's a call to the owner's box for permission.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
