I would ( be shocked ), St. Louis has lost two teams already. If you count the proposed "Stallions" in the early 90s , that would make three.

I know, and I do not necessarily disagree. It's a top 30 tv market though, and its supported the xfl/usfl thing that's been there, and the history is what it is. Once the old lady died that Rams team was going back to LA.

I can see them coming back up for a team, or more importantly, being a negotiating chip.

But couldn’t the situation also be viewed as, “Hey, Missouri, you’ve now had three chances (twice in StL and once in KC) to make it work through some partnership with the NFL teams concerned to build new stadiums. You’ve failed all three times. Sorry, not sorry.”?

similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion.

While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here

alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.

Reposting from other convos about TV market size to support your comment about St Louis being a "top 30" TV market.... and point out where Kansas City happens to rank in comparison.

One would think that a higher-rated TV market would automatically mean the NFL would be interested.  But that's not always the case
