Good Insights from Jonathan Stewart. Podcast bleav in panthers

I have to wonder if David Moore would be a better option than Legette

he also plays special teams, makes plays, avoids stupid mistakes and is decent

Legette is good for a couple of drops or bone headed mistakes a game…can’t do that this time of year   I mean, Jesus, the official tells you are offside and you don’t correct it….

It’s more so the loss of the TE. James Mitchell is inactive on game days so it only left us with 2 TE’s

James Mitchell will obviously play next week so it was JT specifically but more so the fact he is a TE

If your entire gameplan hinges on 3TE sets, you should probably carry more than 3 TEs on gameday.

But, we all know that's a BS excuse in the first place.

I still say Julian Edelman nailed it best pregame…

Bryce is reliant on Canales scheming his passes up on 3rd and 4th short scenarios to catch a D off guard.   If the run doesn’t exist…..he can’t sit back and pass into coverage.

* Rico ran tough all game.  His opportunity limited

* Stew essentially a Panther employee and his takes will be massaged and not hitting certain things.  Which is the light talk of Bryce, off a franchise worst performance….and ignoring the load on everyone else’s shoulders because of the QB

That point Edelman made hits the nail on the head perfectly.  It’s why he’s had such crazy aberration-type games that are way out of the norm.  He can’t read it himself, he has to rely on what’s told to him prior to those big passes and they happen because it has been out of the norm and unlike the trends we’ve shown with Bryce until this year.  It’s also why h can go from having 450 yards passing one game to only 50 another.  And that, is inexcusable.

My best summary of Jonathan

1Seattle defense is the best in the league

2. Field possession game lost

3 defense has untimely missed tackles and penalties that allowed allowed Seattle offense to win field possession game, pointed to the long run after the Seattle illegal grounding as one example loss in field possession game. Gave them 16 yards unnecessarily    And of course  the offensive turnovers deep in their territory

4. Felt the defense could be special with a few more pieces   Pointed out Nic Scourton for great effort    Michael Jackson ‘played out of his mind ‘   And Cherulous played excellent and in played through pain

5.   Panthers offense, slow to the line and lethargic

6.  panthers receivers got no separation with Seattle   playing 2 high    On young’s interception, young thought corner was going to sit.

7 plays called allowed nothing but check downs  against. The 2 high.   Play calls and routes predictable on zone coverage

8  panthers offensive could have challenged mid zone more

9  panthers tried to run and couldn’t

10    Other commentator  did not like the kneel down with 2 mins to go

11  believes in the defense  now and future

12 little things, little mistakes talking about horn, ‘play with your feet, not your hands’

13  maybe Sanders being hurt also hurt the offense with mismatches and all came out in 13 personnel, might have been relying on him

We've never cared about getting receivers who can seperate.  That always gets exposed playing defenses like this.

Seattle has a good defense but their offense made enough mistakes that they should have won. The offense couldn’t make them pay just like the 49ers game. Defense forced two turnovers and all the offense could do was kick a field goal and fumble. I get the defense had some bad missed tackles and an inexcusable penalty but they did enough to give the team a chance to win. The offense did ZERO. It’s games like this where Bryce doesn’t have the next level talent to carry the team.

If the Panthers don’t realize they need to at least challenge Bryce to earn his job, we’re gonna be back to the mediocrity David Tepper said he wouldn’t tolerate. Which means we’re probably heading back to the bottom of the NFL soon.

Of those 450 yards he had in that game, I seem to recall like almost 300 were yards after the catch. Also I genuinely believe Bryce cannot see the field and he throws blind most of the time.

I was not watching for it yesterday, but getting separation vs a zone coverage is simply finding the open spots and the QB must read the WR's ability to find the open spots and anticipate.  Did they stay in zone all day?

I don’t know if it is Canales or it is Young or both as there is no consistency or identity on offense or sustained offensive execution week to week

54 yards passing is a failure, the run game was a failure…all of this after spending tons of resources on the draft and free agency on the offensive side of the ball.

Tired of the young  team and coach excuse.  Lots of teams have young players and young QBs and they don’t look like this

Point being, all the resources invested and the truth is, had Dowdle not been Superman at mid season, that  win loss record would look much different    Rico was Young’s  and Canales’ crutch until,he wasn’t

Maybe it is as simple as Young isn’t sustainable at this level and Canales needs a proven OC….not himself or his buddy idzik

Really hope Rob Hunt being back next week motivates this OL a little more. Run game hasn’t had the surge it did earlier in the year.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think having David Moore’s fresh legs and veteran presence might help this young WR room next week.

Is it certain that Hunt will be back? I haven't seen anything on this yet.
