in 2005 the Pittsburgh Stellers were a 6th seed who went on to win the SuperBowl.so  no i don't understand what you mean by 2 to none 🤔. long shot yes but no absolutely not none

&  it's most likely going to be the current 5th seed Houston Texans  or 6th seed LA Chargers on the road against the 4th seed  Pittsburgh Stellers

Yeah, wildcard teams out of strong divisions can make noise. Default winners of trash tier divisions almost never do.

The amount of people who think we are actually going to do anything if we make the playoffs is laughable. We are gonna get our asses kicked first game. Easy.

Even if our opponent lays an egg and we miraculously win a game an ass kicking is coming. We don't belong in the playoffs. Neither do the Bucs but one of us is gonna go anyway.

ok well then here is a more recent example .the 2011 SuperBowl Champion NY Giants were a #4 seed ( NFCE) & also had the same 9-7  record that the Pittsburgh Stellers currently have

just saying ...anything can happen in the playoffs

exiting in the first playoff round this season is still a better situation than what the majority of folks thought would happen this season.  Still a success vs expectations

so looking at ahead at the playoffs in this current era of NFL football 2026.right now there is no clear cut favorite that the experts say universally agree upon .no instead they all seem to agree that it consist of an equally strong group of contenders that all have very notable strengths & weaknesses.so with that said I believe it's  more about how these teams matchup than it is their overall record or what division they play in or what seed etc..

Acknowledging that we aren't a good team vs actively rooting for them to get destroyed and not make the playoffs are two entirely different things.

Yes, Panthers aren't good.  Yes, we likely won't go far in the playoffs.  But why would you rather see your favorite team not even have the opportunity?  Who is to say we have another chance at making the playoffs for the next 10 years?  Jets haven't made the playoffs since 2010! Think about that.

All of you keep focusing on unknowns and whatnot.  Here is the biggest unknown: we don't know when we will have another chance.  It could be 2035.  It could be 2040.  Let that sink in for a moment.

Yet, instead of wanting to capitalize on the opportunity, you want to see the team get beat down.  And for what?  Because MAYBE we move on from Bryce Young?  And what will you do if that doesn't happen anyway?  What would we have gained from missing the playoffs then?

And look, I'm not trying to sound holier-than-thou.  Not trying to demean you as a fan or anything like that.  But just try to enjoy the moment because it could be a long time, as sad it sounds, before we are in this position again.  You just don't know.  And if you don't believe me, go find a Jets fan.  Go find a Browns fan.  Go find a Lions fan from the mid 90s-2010s.  Go find a Dolphins fan.

I’m all for making the playoffs. Do we deserve it fug no! Playoff experience is really beneficial to the team, it’s a different feel and a different type of pressure that will benefit everyone on the team no matter what happens with Young next year. I do not want to see Young on the field next year but I think that decision has been made. I also think we’ll back are asses into the post season 8-9 with the help of the Falcons, that would be the only fitting way for us to end the season.
