Canales is unquestionably doing a bad job. His in game management is the worst we have ever had during the Tepper era, possibly worst ever. His personnel management is also atrocious.

It's been about 60% hindrance and 40% help.

He literally takes 3 weeks to make what should be an in game adjustment and has no feeling for the pulse of the game. What players are hot, what plays are working and what aren't. He constantly kills the momentum of the team.

Yeah, this was 100% on Bryce. For some reason he came out being checkdown king Sunday. Didn't really even look at deeper routes. Just checked it down as quickly as possible. He CAN NOT be a franchise QB playing this inconsistently. The confusion for me is that some games he looks at deeper routes and then some games he just ignores everything over 15 yards. I don't understand this dude anymore. Honestly thinking he's broken at this point. He WAS NOT like this at Alabama. They'll pick up his 5th year option, but there's no way he's extended. No way.

I try to look at him through rose-colored glasses when I can because I think they are going to "die on this hill (Bryce).  At least bring in some comp.  The mentor/best buddies backup situation is not healthy competition, and I will be pissed if we give Bryce a $50m per contract.  I am in the minority when I see the potential for our future QB in this draft.  Players like Mateer, for example, from Oklahoma.  A substandard 2025 has dropped his stock to where he could fall to day 3, but his skill set, demeanor, and stats from Washington State tell me there is something there.  I think he could be there in round 3 if he comes out.  I would feel better about Bryce if I knew we were developing plan B.

Yeah. My thing with Bryce is that he can. He just doesn't. I know some don't think he can throw a deep ball, or fit passes into tight windows, or even throw in the middle. He can. He has. It's just that some games he just doesn't. For whatever reason. That's the most confusing part. The inconsistency is mind numbing for me. I'd love to see Canales just force him to let it loose. Teach him to read deep to shallow. Check downs for him should only be if he's moved from his spot. Period.

He wasn't like this at Alabama. I think we broke him.

His confidence pushing the ball down the field got shattered early. His first game against the Falcons I still remember the Jessie Bates picks and then the first possession first game against the Saints last year in Canales first year he tried to fit it in a tight window in the middle of the field and got picked. He just doesn't have the arm strength for this league.

He has more than enough arm for the NFL. He doesn't throw hard when he should. Some times you just have to drive the ball in a window and he doesn't always do that, giving the impression that his arm is weak. It really isn't as bad as that. Not great. But not THAT bad.

Sorry I just cannot agree with "he has more than enough arm for the NFL". Sure it might be a little overblown but its definitely below league average in my mind. He can flash it here and there if he can really get his lower body into the throw but I have seen so many skipped balls that land 5-10 ft in front of the receivers when he gets pushed off a solid base.

He was definitely like this at Alabama. That awful game losing interception in the CFB Championship is normal Bryce. The Bryce we have been seeing his entire career.
People say Bryce had no one to throw to at Alabama that is a lie.
It is obvious his receivers made him look better then he was.
Just go back and look at how Bryce played and it a painfully obvious his supporting cast made him better then he was.
Bryce fooled everyone. He was never a 1st round QB and when we look back it will be remembered as one of the biggest busts of all time.
On any other team Bryce would have been benched and never played again. But the Panthers are dumb.

Looks like we need a new coach. One of the hot DC candidates out there who will demand a new OC and a new QB. Someone with a set of balls big enough to tell Tepper to take a seat and let him run this thing.

All we've done is surround Bryce Young with guys who had previously turned subpar QBs into MVP candidates, but it's somehow always coaching.  Gimme a g*ddamn break.  This guy is a bum and a loser.
