Has he ever had a good first half besides the fluke falcons game? It feels like if he has a decent game, he doesn’t do anything until the fourth.

Now I know Bryce's mechanics are shithouse but that also coincides with Canales and his poo scripted plays too also go along with a defense that allows long time killing drives. Which in turn create a perfect storm for terrible stat performances.

As a QB you can get away with shitty mechanics ever so often when your arm talent/strength is off the charts good. BY arm strength is ummmm how do you put this????? TRASH, so even the slightest of sloppy mechanics is going to cause big problems. Hence BY career stats being also said TRASH or mediocre at best for all you BY truthers.

How is a play call related to his mechanical deficiencies? In a sense that you could possibly blame the former for the latter?

If anything, it the opposite. You might choose a play because it does not require great mechanics and timing, I can see that. Those rollout on the run throws for instance.

He has 4 games this season of 200 or more yards passing.

He has 6 games this season of 150 or less yards passing. I can check but I bet that may possibly lead the league.

9 games at 175 or less, 5 tds, 7 ints, 4 fumbles

He is him. Elite. Btt gwd.

I had some regulars at the bar watching the game,  non Panthers fans, and they were like why is he floating every single pass? The trajectory on every throw is so soft/slow and interception worthy lol. Even his "big time plays" almost every time the WR is waiting on the ball after beating their man by 3-5 yards.

A couple more telling stats:

He's manged 273 yards when ahead all season.  This means two things, he can't muster enough offense to pull away from opponents, thus we get the "refs rigged it" nonsense all year.  He plays no better when the playbook is wide open with a lead, actually worse.

Also, Bryce needs a short field.  As evidenced yesterday, we managed one score that the defense did not gift a possession in the shadow of the Bucs' end zone.

This one is the most condemning of them all.

That kind of offense, all short throws and lots of third downs, can't sustain many long drives.

Bryce is about as good of a backup/mentor qb as you can get. Hes got it all upstairs.

Why do people keep insisting Bryce is intelligent? Is it just because ESPN keeps saying it?

The panthers are running the most stripped down offense in the league. People need to start considering that’s all Bryce is capable of, mentally as well as physically.

All I can say is this playoff game is a make it or break it for Bryce. I don’t want to see none of this going into the 4th quarter crap with less than 100yards throwing riding a good defensive effort on our side. You need to show up!  If he craps the bed this game and they extend him due to “making playoffs” I’m not watching one dame game next season.

It’s not just his mechanics, he sometimes can’t make the throws due physical limitations. I know Canales sometimes isn’t the best play caller but Saturday he was scheming players wide open. The flea flicker was a bad call but really not a bad game from Canales.

Correct. All of this super processor business is just media hype. He's more like a Will Levis type processor.

This is something I definitely relate to. I have been saying we have been indoctrinated since year one. Hypnotized. Something. Not sure how to verbalize it. We got used to seeing it. Desensitized lol.

It looks normal now, but the first year and the first couple of games the difference between him and normal NFL QB play that I had been used to watching my entire long life was stark. And as a fan of the team, seeing it was fuging disturbing.  I remember after the first game in September 2023 just being kind of in shock over what I had seen on my TV screen.
And the 3rd game vs Seattle when Dalton played, it looked right again. Major difference. No wonder Frank had ‘that look’.

I noticed that by year two it didn’t seem that way nearly so much. But then I’d watch some other teams play and it was real noticeable.
And I don’t think we really see the arc or trajectory, or the velocity all that well on a telecast with those angles compared to being in the stands. Someone else might opine on that, I have not been in the stands.

I said all along I could see a way it could work, but really didn’t want to watch that kind of ball. And we have kind of done that. Made it work enough to get a playoff game. Here we are.

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
