Canales' O - Year 2

I was not a fan and he's still very green and learning.

8 wins with the cream being rams and at Green Bay, I thought this was a 2-4 win team. Whatever the reasons, he was part of doubling it.

Again, wasnt a fan and still not close to foxy feels, *BUT* I feel he earned at least one more year.

Panthers have to stop the every 1-2 year reset of staffs, no one wanted this job and young Dave took the gamble .....and results are above the talents/my thoughts.

Better than I thought.

I hear you. I can't give him all the credit that you have though. I just can't.

We beat Dallas and Miami because of Rico running insanely good.

So that puts the count at 6 wins.

The Packers lost their leading receiver early in that game. Maybe they overlooked us too. Who knows. Rico ran well that game too. Maybe half credit for that game.

5.5 wins is much closer to that 4 win mark many of us had at the start.

It is hard to say for sure. The offense has been dreadfully bad though down the home stretch.

Not that I want to defend him and again I just never liked the guy to begin with. He did help win close games, you can always play the numbers game. Cards, Iants and that last Buc was within one score. Add a ST TD *could have allowed the Panthers to steal a Win in any of those 4 games....

Offense is bad, no question. I think the constant OL turnover finally hit at the end of season. Coker and Sanders missed time, and I do feel it would have helped if either could get over the injury curse. No excuses and all. I don't know why the BY stans, don't focus on the lack of talent/pros outside Tmac......corpse of AT carried, Id bring this up non-stop if I wasn't a BY truther/"hater".

Like I said in another post, Panthers and Dave are sorta stuck together.....no one wanted to interview Dave and no one wanted to move their family to the queen only to have David tepper fire them at week 14.

Bar is Uber low, HEY he's better than Rhule or Reich.......ugh.

26th ranked offense in 2013.

Did you stop with a one stat cherry pick  because if you went further you saw a 2013 rushing team under a defensive head coach that on offense also was….

12th - scoring %

7th - TO%

9th - 3rd down %

7th - redzone %

And it auto killled your narrative?? It almost seems like you were trying to suggest the 12-4 team was basically similar lol.  This what made it drastically different

He been great for culture but for fug sake get a real OC in here

Year 1 2024 - benched bryce and got us more wins then we had in 2023

Year 2 2025 - got us more wins than we had in 2024. More wins than anyone reasonable predicted. Beat the NFC leading Rams and GB. Got a "we're in the playoffs" coffee mug, which 50 years from now will have the "backdoor" asterisk pretty much forgotten

Dave has certainly earned year 3. Probably year 4 too.    (that doesn't mean he should keep the OC role -- but we should expect he's sticking around as HC for a bit)

Just remembering what people thought of our schedule the second half of the season, and I believe ‘brutal’ was the consensus.

I am sick of a lot of his schtick too, but when I zoom out and look at all the variables, he isn’t as bad as the bigger critics claim.
Sort of like, you are what your record says you are. Listening to some of you it’s like he took all this great poo and got two wins or something.

He may be a shitty OC, but Bryce is a fuging millstone, a coach killer. A playbook diluter. I can stop there and justify a season with a new QB.

I think despite being a suspect playcaller…..he gets a solid grade for his big picture management of how to make the most out of what we have.  He has figured out the general managment of how to deploy things to find a close game
