Yeah, people tend to forget how much CMC struggled in year one. Not all his fault but it was a rockier start than expected.

"struggle" is a strong term

435 yards rushing

651 yards receiving

Also was 3rd on the team in carries behind Jstew and Cam by a lot. Stewart had 198 attempts at 3.4 ypc, Cam had 139, CMC had 117. He also returned punts at a decent clip.

Like obviously it took him a while to figure out he couldn't cut back inside in the NFL, and he was still dealing with Shula, and he wasn't league MVP yet, but he fuging balled out from day one in retrospect. And this is from someone that did not like the pick and never thought he'd become what he is now. He was just drafted into a team that had no idea what to do with him (ISO L guard?????)

Kinda proved his point there.

I know I'm biased but IMO he's easily the ROY. Dart and Shough didn't play in enough games. When you look at T-Mac's production then consider our overall anemic passing attack letting defenses key in him in the passing game, it's impressive. We're limited at QB, don't have much at all at TE and we were playing a bust at #2 WR all year and yet T-Mac still produced at a high level.

With 33 less catches. All Bryce did that year was throw short passes to Theilen who would get tackled immediately.

im just saying one of these guys is roty of the year and the sky the limit and the other was basically run out of town and hated by the fanbase

at the end of the day its clear that no matter the skill or age of the WR, their absolute ceiling is 1014 yards.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
