The defense has like five Bryces on it and evero wants to get out here so bad he took a second interview WITH THE RAIDERS

What kind of ridiculously dumb take is this? Now Evero may or may not be happy with his situation in Carolina, I have literally no clue. But his willingness to accept interest in a massive promotion to one of the most prestigious jobs in the entire country doesn't signal proof towards his feelings on the Panther in one way or another. I don't care if he's loving his time in Carolina; you don't pass up an opportunity like that. Not to mention, Evero is lucky to even be sniffing interviews. He's the coordinator for a middling defense that was historically bad under his watch just 1 year ago. He can't afford to turn down anything. And the Raiders with the #1 pick in the draft, is a better landing spot than at least a few of the openings regardless.

Trading away home grown talent before paying them a massive raise on a new contract is a perfectly valid way to build a team. The reason it turned out so bad for us is that Fitterer was such a horrific evaluator of talent, so we got crap out of those picks. Just look at the difference between the Vikings trading Stefon Diggs and the Titans trading AJ Brown, both for 1st round picks. Vikings draft Jefferson and Titans draft, hell I can barely remember his name. Burkes?

Coaches turn down shitty teams all the time. See ours. There’s a reason we had to hire a coach not a single other team even wanted to interview for a Rooney rule slot

evero also had an interview with the Steelers so he’s already had more interest than our current head coach did. Whether that was just Rooney rule remains to be seen.

as I keep saying, and no one wants to address, he’s been stuck with one of the least talented units in the nfl while they throw everything they can at making bryce a top 24 qb. What scheme change or play call to help Leadership Council Member Rozeboom not vanish into the middle of the line on every blitz? Or are we asking fourth string DBs to man up Puca Nacua?

To say nothing about it the offense on the other side of the ball he’s been stuck with. He wanted to leave (customary) and was forced to stay.

and you all better pray he doesn’t leave because I cannot imagine how pathetic the coordinator search would become. “Come to a roster of JAGs with an offense that’ll ask you to hold every other team to less than 20 points and if the coach gets fired you’ll be forced to stay for the next one.”

Did Canales masturbate with any evangelical DB coaches in Tampa that we know about?

It should have only been two options to this whole situation

1) Take that Rams deal as soon as it was offered

or

2) Pay the man

Instead, we (yet again) chose the worst option and did neither, and we were left with trading him for scraps. The problem wasn't trading him, the problem was not taking that Rams deal.

The rams never confirmed that rumor fwiw and mcvay and sneed have been very candid about player strategy in the past. I remember them laughing at Belichick taking a guy in the second round they had a seventh round grade on, live during the draft after then pick was made.

its as likely the agent just got that out there that to try to force the panthers hand.

like burns can’t both be an overrated soft sack specialist and worth two (future) firsts to one of the best run team in the nfl.

I actually don't mind Evero; he's got his ups and downs like just about anybody. I'm ok with him still being our coordinator because a) I think continuity is underrated and b) I hope he grows from some of his shortcomings and only gets better. But he's particularly bad in late game prevent defense, which he's been fortunate to this point because we're rarely in position of holding a late lead in his tenure and the few times we have been, he's either exposed or bailed out by a turnover. If we've actually forced a stop, i.e. turnover on downs, I can hardly remember it. But at the same time, he's kept us competitive against some good offenses especially when our offense doesn't set the other team up with multiple bad turnovers.
