They needed like 5-8 yards to kick the game winning FG.  Throwing the ball deep like that was unnecessary and reckless.

The TE was open for that.

I put it on the HC and QB.

Yep

same for josh allen too

not smart football.

objective move for the field goal.
Make said field goal.

Get your ass on the plane.

Go home

Plays aren't designed to go to only one receiver. Qbs go through progressions for a reason. Primary or not the other routes are viable options.

Single route plays happen all the time, hate to burst your bubble. What do you think a screen is? But most short/medium plays are designed for half-field reads depending on the defensive coverage, so they're automatically cut down to two or three routes on the snap. Full five eligible progressions are not the norm in most offenses, just because QBs rarely have the amount of time available to reach the fourth or fifth receivers. Most routes are eliminated by coverage before the snap, and receivers recognize this as well and will adjust their routes accordingly, often either going through the motions or running a route designed to carry defenders rather than to get open (which is still very useful and is built into the play design.)

Yeah the one who's most memorable moment was when he took off his helmet and undid his winning catch.  The very same.

The catch still counted...Piñero missed the PAT because it went from 32 to 47 yards....the bum.

Also the helmet removal was legal iirc, he was out of the field of play.

And the last time I saw Pinero mentioned it was SF Pinero FG 56 yds. Make the damned 47 yd XP.
I don’t miss him.

Back to DJ Moore. I don't care what has been said. Wish he'd never been traded away from us. Quality receiver and an even better man.

I think DJ will always catch some heat because he will never be an elite WR, despite having elite attributes. I remember that when he was here. We all saw Steve Smith play for years, so we know what a truly elite WR looks like. DJ was never that.

Now, is he a very, very good WR? Yes. Is he one of the best 15-20 WR's in the NFL year in and year out? I would say yes, as well. But he will always get some doubters because he is the tier below the truly elite WR's.

I do agree, though. Would love to still have it. Would love to have reversed that trade immediately. Especially with the benefit of hindsight the way we have now. It's way more painful from that view.

Yep, DJ was a good starting WR. He's still our #3 all-time leading WR and will be for awhile to come. Hope to see T-Mac eclipse that but even if he's killing it it'll take a few years.

You know what's funny and depressing is if he just replicates what he did in 2025 next season, he will be in the top 10 WR in franchise history based on receiving yards.

Oh, you get past DJ and it gets depressing in terms of our franchise history at WR. We've literally only had three legit long-term WRs in the history if the franchise. I mean, a RB who only played five seasons and missed a ton of games over those five seasons sits at #6 on our all-time receiving list. LOL

BTW - this was statistically the worst season of his career.  He had more yards even as a rookie.

2019 Panthers 87 1,175 4

new article

"

If they do opt to roll with the younger and cheaper options, the Panthers probably wouldn't bite on Moore. They've seen him get worse since trading him away, and virtually no one on the team was part of that decision or that era.

Still, it would be hilarious to see Moore return home. It would also be a pretty solid addition, assuming the Bears ate some of the cost and/or it didn't require much capital to get him. A wide receiver room of Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker, Moore, Xavier Legette, and Jimmy Horn Jr. would be nice."

Good lord let’s give the guy to the Bears and turn around and give them even more to buy him back? Lol.
They should just give him back to us in appreciation for all we have done for them.

And why do people think he wants to come back to the team that saw so little value in him that they thought they wouldn’t miss him - and shipped him out as a mere sweetener for their trade.

DJ and Bryce would cook.  I wish we could have him back but not at his current price tag.

Yeah I think he'd be a good fit on paper, but at this point I just don't see it.  We should lock up T-Mac and Coker and look to add a YAC receiver through the draft or cheaper FA.  XL should be released or traded for a cheeseburger.  He is a net negative on the offense and draws targets from competent professional football players.
