HOF Leaks.

He didn't make it for the same reason Luke didn't and the same reason Smitty never will unless they change the procedure again.

This new rule of needing to get 40 of 50 votes in the final round of voting is just sooooooooooooo dumb

At that point it's already down to people who should be in the HOF and all it takes is a handful of split votes to keep more than worthy players out of the HOF in any given year.  So unless there is collusion to among the voters to make sure only 9 or less people are not voting for certain players, we're going to keep seeing this happen every year, and we'll see more than worthy players never end up getting in at all.

All it takes is for 20 of the 50 voters to split their vote and it keeps both players out that year.  And when that final vote is by voting for 5 guys out of 7, it's going to happen every year unless they start colluding to make sure certain guys get in when they should.

Sounds like Polian really stepped in it. Said he voted for. Belichick, and now people don’t really believe him because he switched his statement to the old, I don’t remember if I did or didn’t.
IOW he was probably lying about it and is trying to cover himself with the old don’t remember.

I don’t really care about Belichick or Polian, waiting hopefully for good news on Luke.

The Colts FO have always been a bunch of bitch-made complainers.  The basketball score football we got for a few years before two high safety coverage started shutting down the deep passing game originated with Dungy and Irsay whining to the competition committee about the Patriots manhandling Harrison and Wayne.

There is no basketball scores reflected in stats. The highest scoring was 2020 when theee were like to no fans in attendance.

What basketball scores are you referring to?  The scoring falls between 21 and 23 per team for like the past 30 years.

Belichick not being first ballot makes the HOF a farce. It's as meaningless as the pro bowl now.

Paul Hornung bet on games as a player and still got in but Ricky Williams is shadowbanned for life over weed. Michael Irvin got in with a laundry list of misconduct. You've got guys in Canton with mediocre stats. Not going to cry for Belichick but it's been a farce.

Meh.....losing record without Brady and he's a cheating jackass.

Exactly, Tom went to Tampa and won another SB, Bill drove the pats off a cliff without him. Easy to see who was the talent. Hell, TB was riding the bench until Bledsoe got hurt and wins his first SB the same season! BB had no idea what he had.

He was def snubbed, but I think some of the more traditional voters are going to make him wait until year 2 because up until last year HC had to wait 5 years after retirement. So he'd still be getting in before Shula, Landry, etc. on wait time. Just not first ballot.

I don't have a problem with them snubbing him for a while due to him being an very, very, VERY obvious cheater. You won't see much from the NFL for a couple of reasons. One being that they are intimately aware of how deep their cheating went, burning the evidence to cover it up from ever seeing the light of day. The second being his persistent feud with Robert Kraft, whom is one of their owners. The NFL taking the side of a lowly paid NFL head coach(current or former) versus an NFL owner is incredibly unlikely to ever happen.

Honestly, I've never believed owners should be in the Hall of Fame.

I've never been a big fan of Belichick, but the idea that he shouldn't be a first ballot Hall of Famer is absurd. If it's because of the scandals are they going to deny Tom Brady the first year as well? If it's anything else it's clearly a political game.

Brady is still essentially cheating to this very day in the NFL.
