Jeremy Fowler: Panthers going after Odafe Oweh, Devin Lloyd, Tremaine Edmunds, Kenny Pickett

Do we really want to pay an ILB 20 mill a year coming off his first elite season? Jags didn’t even pick up his 5th year option.. Why not? Fred Warner makes 21 mill. Roquon Smith makes 20 mill. Lloyd doesn’t deserve to be in that range. Hard pass. There’s so many other options at ILB this offseason.

Logically you would think with us having a former LB for our GM that we wouldn't have to overpay an FA who peaked in a contract year and whose team seems to have no interest in retaining his services. I mean I do like the player but there's a whole world of middle ground between liking him and paying him 20 million a season. It seems like some folks are too eager to carry water for anything Morgan does. We've already done this with past GM's.

me too, Kenny "fuging" Pickett??!?!?

A few huddlers have been telling me over and over that Panthers(Dan/Dave/tep/___) would not bring in legit competition for BY...... I swear if they think Kenny "drop that old burger small hands gif here" Pickett is insurance and the solution to Panthers future QB issue???.....Id hate for them to be right and....... this alone makes me want to fire the every single member that choose this "solution".

fuging bring in talent!! worrying about hurting the little guys feels, I just.......fuging circus BS.  this better not be true.

They are supposed to improve the qb room, not keep it the same.

There are real NFL QBs that Id prefer BY over and Kenny is one. He's a clear levels down, Im legit shocked he's still in the league. I thought he's for sure go the route of corral or Rosen or Hackenberg.

Id even take 40 year old Dalton over Kenny.

Someone needs to kindly clue in our decision makers that we are trying to move past joke status and rebuild our reputation. How are the Saints more competently addressing QB than us? They have a 2nd round pick who is arguably better than anything we have. Yet we've got names like Pickett floating around. Shed the poverty tendencies already!

I would definitely prefer not. Guys having career seasons in contract years just to go back to their norm after getting paid feels like the normal path those situations go down.

There's a lot of options available. I'd prefer to go with a less costly one and drsft another LB pretty early on in the draft.

Y'all are acting like the guy hasn't been solid throughout. His tackling production is somewhat off of theirs for their first three seasons, but that's about it; everything else is on par, and his interceptions were more than both of them put together.

It's really not a mystery that Lloyd "peaked" last season, as the new coaching staff put him into a better situation to succeed. Moreover, to say thar the Jags don't have any interest in re-signing him is just not true; they have interest, but, due to their current cap and team situation, they just can't afford him. They can't afford him. He has earned whatever pay he is about to get, and he's now squarely in his prime and ascension to top-tier status status in the league.

100%. If you can’t even scout your own position that you played, then are you really a skilled talent evaluator? That’s why the Trevin Wallace pick was so disappointing. Along with the lackluster ILB FA signings he’s whiffed on. Every coach, player, etc has their own “identity” aka something they are good at and can always hang their hat on. Same with a good GM. Idk what that is for Dan Morgan. There’s not one thing I can point to that exudes confidence regarding Dan Morgan’s personnel decisions. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

https://blackandteal.com/nfl-analyst-reveals-why-jaguars-won-t-lose-sleep-if-devin-lloyd-leaves-bill-barnwell

"He racked up five picks, including that pick-six of Patrick Mahomes that fueled a famous Jags victory. The effort concerns disappeared," Barnwell wrote. "Lloyd managed 1.5 sacks and 10 knockdowns as a blitzer. He wasn't a great run defender, as Lloyd took longer to make tackles on run plays (5.1 seconds) than any regular off-ball linebacker in the league and made both run tackles and stuffs at below-average rates. But Lloyd was impactful enough against the pass to earn a deserved trip to the Pro Bowl."

Reports are wrong every year. Whoever is mentioned in the media we aren’t getting. Dan is running interference again. My guess:

Kaden Elliss -LB

AJ Espenesa-Edge

Joseph Ossai-Edge

Greg Gaines-DL

Mitch Trubisky-QB

Taylor Rapp- S

Taylor Decker- T

Isaiah Likely-TE

John Metchie- WR

Kenneth Walker- RB

Dee Alford- CB

 Ethan Pocic-C

And yes we would have the cap for this if we pull our restructures right.

I like your dream too
