They saw the market for Hendrickson was not as robust as expected and made a business decision. I’d respect it more if they just came out and said “We’re playing by the rules and we don’t need a reason to cancel the trade before 5pm Wednesday. That’s our window to evaluate all aspects of the trade and we decided it wasn’t in our best interests.” Don’t give us all this failed physical bs you just come off more slimy.

The truth will come out when Crosby actually returns to the lineup. He and his agent could be blowing smoke about his progress to get a fat new deal witha team that has SB chances. NFL GMs aren't the only slimy ones out there.

If Crosby returns on schedule and at full speed, the Ravens lose face. If he doesn't, Ravens look smart and Crosby and his agent do.

We went through similar drafting Brooks. He was going to be ready by camp, then he wasn't. Then the start of the season. Then week 3, and so on.

Time will tell if the Ravens or Crosby were in the right. Either way, the Raiders have got to be pissed.

Considering the Raiders and Crosby’s disagreements about his health late last year and the Ravens’ history of being an extremely well run organization I lean towards the Ravens not being in the wrong here

I think it boils down to cost in the end.

take Hendrickson on a contract and weaken a divisional opponent VS giving up two firsts and signing Crosby to a contract.

they’ll say it was for medical reasons. But in the end it just wasn’t the best option out there for them.

I'm honestly curious how this will impact free agents with past injuries wanting to go there. They have done it several times in the past prior to Crosby and if I am a player looking for a big pay day, I would outright refuse to visit the Ravens and have a no trade clause for the Ravens to protect my value.

Gotta imagine this not only hurts what the Raiders would get in a trade, but also significantly lowers the amount of money Crosby will receive for his next contract.

All around dick move by Baltimore and while technically not illegal by NFL rules, it is about as bad as a thing a front office can do.

While I usually agree and the Raiders are about as dysfunctional of a franchise as you will find, it has to be concerning that

1) they immediately sign Hendrickson after he said yesterday that he will make his final decision tomorrow (today), which the Ravens knew would be at a cheaper price

2) there are reports from like 10 unnamed people with other team's front offices that said this is the Ravens having buyers remorse.

It's not like the knee issues with Crosby were unknown either. You would think a team like the Ravens would have done their homework before trading for him

I think the Ravens pulled a real shady deal here. Hammer out that Crosby trade knowing he's still recovering from that minor procedure then still go after Hendrickson. If they land Hendrickson, just fail Crosby's physical and get your picks back. If you swing and miss you still have Corsby coming via trade. I'd be very wary of dealing with this Ravens front office moving forward.

Yeah, and it looks way worse because they have done literally the exact same thing like 3 or 4 other times in the past 10-15 years (honestly surprised the NFL hasn't put some type of rule in place because of it). Obviously not a player of this magnitude though when they did it in the past.

Not sure it will have much of an impact on other teams willingness to trade with the Ravens, but it definitely has to hurt relations with agents and players seeking a new deal. Wouldn't be surprised to see players looking for that next contract to refuse a trade/willing to free agent sign with the Ravens
