Which side of the ball needs more help?

Recommended Posts

The defense probably needs more help because it has a couple spots which are probably more true holes, but it really isn’t that simple.

offense is inherently more valuable-it’s more expensive, the rules favor it, it’s harder to come by certain skill sets. Guys like Sadiq or Concepcion theoretically allow this team to do stuff it just doesn’t have the personnel to do right now. Then there’s OT-you’ve got one guy under contract behind this season, question marks with your LT, a class that’s uniquely fertile in our spot for options, and the skepticism that you’ll have an opportunity to take one next offseason if you’re picking later in the draft.

they can’t stand pat at a couple spots on defense, but that doesn’t mean they cannot acquire those positions elsewhere.  The offensive spots are much harder to come by when not using a 1st rounder.

Offense needs the most help because it's biggest need is the most important position. Unfortunately nothing can be done to fix that in the draft. I think you'll get a better return on investment with defense in the 1st round outside of a starting caliber left tackle.

I think they are closer to each other than in quite some time.

The obvious upgrade needed on offense is get Qb play that doesn’t rank in the mid 20s.

Granted WR and TE and probably C could be upgraded but a better QB might make what we already have, better.

Even XL looked better with just Dalton.
RB too, but we might have something there if Brooks can play.

Defense we need some help for DB up front and another ILB and two or three more pieces. S, edge, cb.

Seeing a lot of people still not able to grasp that the defense is miles ahead of the offense defense you have legitimate studs and horn brown Phillips Lloyd morig safety Mike Jack and to lesser degrees you got other players who were brought in capable Turk is supposed to be capable Bobby Brown supposed to be capable. Outside of our two guards and T-Mac maybe Bryce I don't think there's anybody that is comparable like there's no pro bowlers on offense

Pro bowl is a subjective measurement of talent. DB didn't make the pro bowl. Shadeur Sanders did.

To be honest, I'd like to see what we could have done with a more capable QB. I believe our offense is being held back. 16 games to barely reach 3k yards is unacceptable, especially when he threw for over 450 in one. That's 170 ypg average the rest of the season. You aren't getting pro bowlers with that level of QB performance.

The offense needs help in the one area Morgan will not address. KP hasn't thrown for over 2500 in a season. This is an offensive friendly league. Gotta be better at the most important position on the field.

Picking Sanders as a outlier is not the overall relative grade that normally happens he's just amazingly popular

Defense

Defense

You can put All Pros up and down the offense they are still at the mercy of a bottom 10 QB.

Which is why QB is still our biggest need, as it has been for three years.

Right now Ickey is rehabbing a major injury while on his 5th year option. He's going to want top money next season.

Walker signed a 1 year deal. He's going to want big money next year.

Moton is 32 years old and cutting him after the season saves $14.5M in 2027. So he's already set to receive really really big money next year.

Like you said, there's a lot of solid options in the back half of round 1 that should be in play. Hell, I had been watching Blake Miller From Clemson on day 2 as a Moton replacement in 2027. He's solid, dependable and smart. A year in a NFL weight room will do wonders for him.

There is really nothing you can do about that this year. We resigned him at least the next 2 years. There is only 1 first round QB legit that would take Bryce job. So you have to get better where you can to help Bryce get to where he needs to be. Personally I think he's fine.

Not great not bad he's in that darnold territory.

You think the Seahawks win the Super Bowl with Young at QB!?

Possibly. I think between the ears young is more advanced than darnold. Probably everywhere but arm strength and size. Yes young is possiblity better. That said the hawks won because of that nasty defense. A pro bowler at every level. A top tier number 1 wr who made splash plays and a dependable RB 1 in walker.

3?? Lol, it's been our biggest need since 2019 when Cam's body officially fell apart.
