yall talking about everything else other than the report, I don’t think this report means we’re locked in to drafting an offensive player at 19. Every single report last year had us taking a defender till we didn’t. The last thing a team is going to do is tell the whole world their game plan two weeks before the draft

It seems to me Canales just ain’t that smart, on the imaginative side of the brain.  He wouldn’t be able to study McVay’s offense, for instance, and reverse engineer it. Of course, LA has a QB that once threw the ball almost 80 yards and Canales doesn’t and has to work around that. 
 

He needs a lot of help around him to be effective, I think he is smart enough to know how it though. 
That is why Bevell. 
 

I am real curious to see if they actually redesigned the offense, overhauled the playbook, etc. All I can picture though is a Seattle Russell Wilson chunk it as high and far as you can and hope, and a big running game.

But I am not that imaginative either, and definitely struggle to visualize how much they can really do when they probably have to avoid certain areas of the field in the passing game.

Speculation only.  If we take a WR at 19 I will be shocked.  Deep position we can get one later.  I still see that pick being defense.

Rookie Bryce: Mingo, Thielen, DJ Chark as his WRs ...we won 2 games. 

2nd Year Bryce: XL is drafted and becomes Bryce's #1 target in 24...we won 5 games (kinda suprising tho)

3rd Year Bryce: Tmac is drafted and becomes Bryce's #1 with Coker in the mix in '25.. we managed to win the division and make the playoffs. ..8 wins

4th Year Bryce: TBD

..... but we do need another reliable option at the position. Maybe not at 19 (unless its Cooper or Lemon) but somewhere within the top 100.  

We are one injury away from reverting back to 23-24 status or worse. And if we dont happen to get substantial gains after this draft atleast we'll have the offense in a great spot to drop in our future QB. 

Tmac, Coker, Leggette, Horn Jr, Metchie.

I'd be willing to rock with the above but they could def stand an upgrade. An argument could be made at TE too.

I think at that point a lot of us will just tune out, im not going to keep watching if they pay shorty a boatload of money to hold the team back.

I didn't say anything about "winning free agency." I said that we haven't been neglecting the defense, and we haven't been. Sure, we've acquired what looks like some solid if not good players in Lloyd, Phillips, Jackson, Moehrig, and even Robinson. Nick Scott was not exactly dog crap.  Moreover, it shouldn't be easy mental gymnastics to conveniently skip over adding Scourton, Umanmielen, Wallace, Ransom, Smith-Wade, Cam Jackson and a good UDFA in Corey Thornton. Every one of these guys is developing. Hopefully two to four of them will be starters, but the others should provide decent depth and rotational pieces if nothing else. So to.me, it sounds ridiculous to say we've neglected or are neglecting the defense simply because we haven't drafted a player in the first round. You may not like it, but offensive positions that we've needed have been their BPA in the first, but that's the way the cards fell, but plenty of resources have been put into the defense.

And I ask again, what other teams have 3 above average wrs on them?  Most good qbs elevate whats already on the roster.

More than a few teams have three above average WRs, especially when you include TEs, starting with the Seahawks. The Bears just traded Moore, but they still have plus options and will likely reload. Green Bay has several above average receivers. Hell, Cincinnati and Dallas have two WR1s. Philly, Houston, Denver, etc.
