On the trade value the Panthers actually won it by 1 pt even giving up 40 spots.

Yeah. Swapping those late picks like that is how they get to those one point margins. It is a common and convenient thing. I mean I don’t worry about any of those picks outside the 4th really. Such long shots…

Don’t understand the trade at all. Felt like a Fitterer trade. And not picking Anthony Hill Jr, no good.

I feel like they may have panicked a little, but a swap to get your guy to move down 37 spots from the 5th to the 6th round is not that big of a deal considering their largely for developmental players anyway. I mean, you can be at least perturbed by it, but it's not a make-or-break type of deal.

As for drafting Anthony Hill, I'll say the same thing I said in regards to Thieneman and Freeling (albeit to a lesser degree/gap), you're gonna be hard pressed to find a whole lot of big boards that had Hill over Hunter. There's an argument that Hunter is our best pick right now. He was a good pick.

Hunter left auburn for ucf because he didn’t make the roster his freshman season and didn’t like the head coach.

he left UCF for Texas tech because he didn’t like the coaches at UCF, and NIL money.

thats ominous.

He went to UCF because Gus Malzahn who recruited him to Auburn went there.

The transfer portal and the NIL money has the players ---in their teens in some cases--acting out.  They will grow up.

Not getting playing time because the coach who recruited you left is a valid reason to want to transfer. Why would you single him out of all the players who transfer because of playing time?

Its because you strive to be negative about everything.

Lee Hunter recently transferred from Auburn to UCF as he reunites with Gus Malzahn.

Now, in a post on Instagram, the defensive lineman shared details of why he decided to transfer.

“Auburn is a special place and always will be I’m still and true auburn made men war eagle forever I always loved auburn since a kid to my old teammates I love you and learned a lot from you guys. Be great no matter what. The reason I chose to leave auburn because we got treated like we wasn’t good enough and like dogs.”

I don’t know if they panicked, but I think they did have legit interest in Rodriguez and once he was gone they had to pivot. Depth on the d-line is definitely not going to hurt. I just think Anthony Hill has a very high ceiling to be a Micah Parsons level pass rusher and hits hard. Would have been an instant difference maker in pass rush situations.

What are you talking about selective quoting?

I quoted what he actually said and what was relevant, not the AI generated subtext for low information fans.

I guess I didn’t post the part about him claiming he was always going to be a war eagle. Thank you for adding this much needed context.

Because a.) the panthers drafted him and this is a panthers forum where we talk about panthers players b.) he transferred another time after malzahn left ufc and c.) he didn’t follow malzahn to FSU and d.) he stayed in a baby soft conference

This is all relevant information about a player the team just drafted.

You’re underplaying how atrocious a program Auburn has been the past 5 years. Absolute dumpster fire there, they hired John Cohen who is the worst AD in the SEC by a mile and doesn’t understand the current NIL age and therefore it is being run by the boosters

    • And that makes you right.
    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
