Is Metchie an upgrade on Etienne for PR and KR duty?

He is slightly as of now, didn’t Et fumble a punt in the playoffs that’s a horrible sign in the biggest game of our season.

Hes a bust. Wish we would trade him for a pick today if someone would give us something for him.

He’s not a bust your overreacting he’s disappointed us but a bust just not able to produce isn’t true bc he’s had very good moments in the NFL. WRs usually blossom in year 3 correct? This is his year being he’s a lil slower in developing based off his college years. ( He broke out year 5) good chance he could put it together this year even decent contributions in key spots make it worth it. We have our star, we have our hands go to guy, we drafted a speedy big target and have a speedy small target  added Metchie to compete, Leggette should have chances this season we’ll see how much he contributes but a bust already he’s had production in year one stepped back year two let’s see what this season brings.

I could start a whole thread but I’ll state it hear first fo you all see what the Eagles have as of today as a WR room? When you add top talent to a very talented room it doesn’t hurt to have an abundance of Wrs that’s what it’s going to take to compete in the nfc this season. we can figure the rest out during training camp but to just trade him bc of a down second year isn’t a smart move.

With all our picks over and done with the only thing DM might do is trade him for a 7th round pick.

In no world does a GM bail on his 1st rounder after 1 season for a 7th.

I don’t like XL either but that’s hella dumb.

I agree, especially since we do have a 7th rounder.

XL will have a huge mountain to climb.  I don't see where he is higher than 4th on the depth chart right now.

No, he's a bust. Want to know what a 1st rounder really looks like? See Tet. Get this bum out of Carolina. Stop making excuses

No one benefitted from an extra season due to COVID more than XL. This dude did nothing until his 6th season of college football when he was literally a man playing amongst boys. I mean, this dude literally went from a guy who might not have even gotten UDFA phone calls to a 1st round pick. That's crazy. For the record, I said all of this leading up to the draft when I was saying I wanted no part of him when the rumors started swirling that we were enamored with him.

I was always supportive of him.  I thought maybe a couple of seasons with real men might turn him into a star.  I was hoping by midway through 2025 he'd start to earn his draft spot.  He hasn't and maybe a change of scenery would do him good.  He's dropping like a hot potato on the depth chart and IMO is done in Carolina.

It's been two seasons. It just feels like one because we're still waiting for a season's worth of production out of him despite him already having 25 starts under his belt. The big problem is that he actually looked more promising as a rookie then he did as a sophomore. Coker has similar production in the same number of seasons despite having 18 fewer starts and 59 fewer targets.. Discrepancies in opportunities created by XL being a 1st round pick and Coker being a UDFA. But the Panthers finally accepted down the stretch last year that Coker is simply a better WR, regardless of prior draft status. If Coker had been provided Xl's opportunities from the start I think he'd be viewed as one of the more promising young WRs in the league.

I don’t see how trading him for a 7th rounder helps us at all other than a salary dump. He has more value as a 4th or 5th receiver.

His money is guaranteed, I don’t know how much savings we can really get from a trade.

I’d rather see him kept as depth if he doesn’t make himself a problem over losing his status.
