Dude, I'm saying the Cardinals have proven they know nothing.

Not saying keeping Bryce is the best choice long term, just saying that we've made the right move for this moment in time.

But man, the Cardinals are never a blueprint for success. Haven't been since they were in Chicago.

I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option is a call for the pitchforks.

We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that.

The pattern it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.
One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.

Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.  Probably should have been drafted day three anyway. The other was way over drafted.

I dunno if the team that gave kyler 5 years and $230 million is the team to emulate

That deal with the ‘must watch film’ clause was all I needed to see. He is an athletic little fuger though, with a cannon.

Hey, I was against drafting him back when, but you can't go back and undo it.

So... you move on and hope there really is something developing there. Someone with more knowledge of the situation (whose job relies on it) seems to have more than hope than we do. So... once again, we trod into the coming season with Bryce and a lot of expectations.

Like I said, the extension wasn't offered for past performance, it's a hedge against something great happening. If something mediocre happens, it also gives us something tradeable. If something bad happens, then we aren't on the hook for much more and we wade back into the rookie pool.

It makes no sense I see all these articles saying if byoung keeps improving and I am wondering what improvement.  His total tds were up for this past year, but his y/g 179.9 171.6 188.2 basically a flat line especailly if you remove his outlier games.  His QBR 34.1 50.7 47.6 actually went down ; his y/a 5.5 6.3 6.3 no improvement .  Basically every single stat shows he is exactly who he has been since entering the nfl a bottom of the league qb.

If we extend him, it will set us back.

Anyone blind to his body of work needs to be examined, he is simply not good.

I am

literally sub replacement lvl play for 26 mil is malpractice.

Kirk cousins is effectively 1 year 20 mil and this team wins the south with him at qb. And actually wins it; doesn’t moon walk in on tie breakers.

Yeah, Will Grier is out for blood!

Haynes King SZN is coming!  I mean, we all know I'm going to start that movement when he makes some runs in the 4th quarter of a preseason game vs future insurance salesman.

I think you are right about that.

My fear is he will have a much better year this year (but still mid by league standards) and they will feel the need to offer an extension next off season.

If he’s “much” better, you are looking at 4000 yards and 30TDs. That puts him easily in top 10. If he’s top 10, we’ll extend him.

I can’t imagine him moving from 22-25 range to top ten. I would call that miraculously better.

Oh man, I just realized how beautiful it would be to let the Falcons pay for our QB while we beat them.

Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs?

What if he’s just 15th?

I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up.

maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10?

Sounds like a Tepper plan.
