Brown on BY9 while talking to Chris Long

DB is just giving the political answer. I'm sure he remembers the three and outs, the stalled drives, and not even getting a chance to rest before the defense is back on the field.

I doubt there is much faith left in Bryce within the organization. That's why Morgan is building a team that is ready to drop in a good QB.

What meetings is brown in with by?

Team meetings and players only meetings.

Team meetings when the entire team watches the film together. Not in depth, but coaches usually make general statements for improvement.

Particularly, in players only meetings guys will fess up and hold themselves accountable for mistakes.

I think we all want him to succeed.  It's just a matter of how confident we are that he will, and how long we are willing to continue sucking because of him.  This year has GOT to be his last opportunity to show he can be an nfl qb

Agree. He has to be more consistent and stop playing scared. Don't wait until you're down 2 TDs before you start letting it rip.

That is sort of the thing. It isn’t that I wanted him to fail. It is that I totally believed he would fail -  to be a franchise level player that they seem to be waiting on him to become. How many years do you willingly waste? I was at zero when this started over three years ago.

I don’t really buy it, I never thought they were giving up in 2024, but I saw it said recently that if not for Andy’s car accident it would have been over for him.

And then last year when the team (Rico) pulled his ass from the fire vs Miami I think it was after yet another of his early season tank jobs. They had Rea and the other I guess Raleigh sports radio guy doing a postgame saying exactly that after that game.

Imma start calling him by his Indian name Little Cat with 9 Lives

If a player doesn’t have his teammates back in an interview then he is either  looking to start a rift in the locker room and stir up controversy or there is already a rift in the locker room and he is trying to stir up more controversy.

Problems in house should stay in house and be dealt with there. DB is saying what he is supposed to say regardless if it is an accurate depiction.

I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.

He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said:

"Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."

That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway.

Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay!

In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.

Or maybe he's in meetings and knows when others make mistakes that ruin plays. Just a possibility. For the record, I think Bryce has to be more consistent this season or it'll be time to start looking for his replacement.

However, football is not a one person sport. QBs need a lot of things to go right to win on a pass play. But if one thing goes wrong, the entire play can fail.

Then why are they paying QBs so much compared to other players? QB are making so much it's harder and harder to pay other players. If a guy plays like 1 of 11 then there pay should be in line with that.

Not all QB should be breaking the bank just because your next or a former 1st rounder

There is a reason they say try to win it all on a QB rookie deal because after that they can cripple a team on what it can do. I would rather not do that for a bottom 1/3 QB.

Cam and Jake have been the only QBs worth investing long term into this team has had I would rather not lower the bar. If a guy don't got the IT factor and it shows I would rather not invest long term into them and keep looking
