Charlotte Observer: Cam Newton gets Charlotte talking

Yeah Charlotte Observer is the main Charlotte paper. The beat writers are pretty convinced that Cam is the front runner.

And I can't confirm this but I am pretty sure that Darin Gantt, Tom Sorensen, and Cam Newton had a freaky three way after the Auburn Pro Day.

Well... with the right supporting cast... and a damn good offensive coordinator i could see Cam Newton having some success. A strong running game could make him dangerous off playactions... etc.

I know nothing about the new coordinator or what type of offense he runs ... and how Newton would fit.

I have my concerns, because despite what everyone says, Chud's offense at least in CLE did use a lot of mid range passes, which were not Cam's strength in college. But, if he's as dedicated as he seems to be, he'll be fine. Plus, Chud will make the offense work for him I think, and may focus more on the deep game

I think he'll be fine in chuds offense. His average intelligence becomes above average when paired with his above average ability to buy time. I believe in newton as much if not more so than Vick of of prison. In a world where few have faith in the mobile qbs ability to win games, I do believe the game is changing.

As soon as the first one wins just like in music, everyone will be trying to copy the blueprint.

Any team that drafts Cam will have to shape its offense around his skillset. He's just too unique of a QB not to. The Steelers have done this with Ben and it's worked extremely well for them, obviously.

If Fox were still around, I'd be concerned that we would just throw him into our general offense and try and make him fit. With Rivera/Chud, I feel comfortable they'll actually look at what he does best and tailor the scheme to those elements.

I lost respect for Sorenson as well. For him to say, "The only way we draft Gabbert is if we trade down. I swear." How can you pretend to know this? Sure, you may have an educated guess, but don't pretend that you know what the Panthers are thinking.

Crossing routes are more about timing then anything. That can be worked on a lot more than say deep ball accuracy and fade routes.

Really I just hope he has great field vision if we draft him. That's more important than anything.

problem with your analysis is that Cam does not use his legs to buy time....he makes one read and then turns into a RB.
