Steve Smith ranks Cam the third best quarterback he's played with

When I read it, I understood what Smitty was saying, but one line kind of stood out to me that gave me pause for thought....

Cam, he's been in the league for about 15 minutes," Smith said on this week's "Dave Dameshek Football Program," which airs on NFL.com . "I think that's one of the things that the media does. They jump on a train too quick."

It made we wonder if he was as bought in as I thought he was

this is from the podcast interview he did, someone posted it as a thread....he just said that because Cam Newton is still a rookie, he said he is only "been in the league for 15 minutes". Said Jake is a seasoned veteran and played with him for a long time and that Vinny taught him a lot because he had worked with a lot of WRs. Cam will be #1 very soon.

    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
    • Definitely epic tv..... A man who wont cheat for a poke dont want one bad enough.
