Fun Facts about the Texans

October 16th, 2011. That's the last time the Texans allowed 20 points.

They're averaging 153 rush yards per game with a 3rd string rookie QB starting.

They have a 1.000 winning percentage against the Panthers.

Will we be able to turn any of this upside down iyo?

Texans are one of only two teams we've never beaten.

Only played them twice though, once our Super Bowl year and once in '07 at our place when Smitty had one of the plays of the decade.

We will be returning to Reliant Stadium for this first since Super Bowl 38, which is kind of exciting in a way.

TJ Yates is better than advertised IMO and that running game is dangerous, but without Andre Johnson that Texans offense doesn't have as much bite. This game will probably end in the 20's and be decided by 3.

And we have Mare.

I watched every UNC game with TJ Yates in it. He plays good, then he plays bad. Its about time for him to have a bad game.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
