Dear Chud, look at Mike Martz before taking a promotion...

I think there is a better than average chance that Chud does not jump at the first chance he gets to be a head coach. It depends on exactly what his career goals are but the smart play is to stay here as the OC and keep building a resume (assuming the wheels don't fall off in the off season). The longer he keeps it up here the better his paycheck will be when he finally ends up somewhere as a HC - bonus that he'll have that much more experience to draw on.

I'm sure he'll interview but I'm counting on him being back next year.

Have to strike while the iron is hot.

Our offense could regress next year and boom, his future as a HC could be ruined. Not saying that could happen but it has before. See Rahem Morris last year.

I would hate to see him leave but I completely understand if he takes another job as HC.

Wait for it.

It is what it is.

We still haven't seen Chud's full playbook. We've seen a lot of trick plays and shotgun formation, but I feel we haven't gotten to the meat of this offense. Chud is not going to let Cam go undeveloped in this area. I believe he stays so Cam can really explode, and boost his own HC credentials.

You are not ready to be a head coach. Spend a few more years here as our OC then think about it. Do it now and screw up, and you won't get another chance for a long while. Ask Mike Martz.

Love,

Zod

Not familiar with MM, so I wiki him....doesn't sound terrible....

As a head coach in the NFL Martz was 56-36 in 5⅓ seasons as the St. Louis Rams head coach. He won two division titles, had four playoff berths including a NFC championship and a trip to Super Bowl XXXVI.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
