Pro Bowl Game Likely To Be Stopped

good. it's been worthless for years.

get that crap written out of the contracts as well. any contract with incentives based on fan voting should be scrapped. totally ridiculous.

the "game" has been a joke for years. too many come trying to take it easy (because the game doesn't matter and a few too many come wanting to make a statement. that's a dangerous combination. it's been a headache for teams for years (even though they are the ones stupid enough to put those incentives in the contract in the first place). it's been losing money for the league for a long time because very few care about the game. the XFL was more entertaining and i think had about the same size audience.

yeah...it's a "tradition" but it's one that should be scrapped. there's not nearly enough benefit to it.

if teams want to reward their players then send them to hawaii or something at the end of the season on their own dime.

The pro-bowl has sucked for years. I'm glad Dalton stepped up and played well but all in all its pretty much unwatchable.

Oh but get use to it for i believe that is where the NFL is headed with the rule changes, handcuffing the defense and whatnot . So if you hate the probowl like me, you'll hate the NFL in the near future.

Only thing I don't like about not having an actual game is that all of the guys we have had over the years who were named to the pro bowl as alternates and made it because the guys ahead of them backed out will no longer get that chance.

You either make the "pro bowl roster" or you don't. And I think we've had quite a few guys with "pro bowl" on their resume because of that - Beason did at least once, if I'm not mistaken.

Other than that, it makes sense. And without a game, it gives players even more of an incentive to make the roster when there isn't a game being played. It would be viewed as a greater honor.
