Barnidge Apparently Not Injured

oh yeah, taye biddle. forgot all about about our next star wide receiver.

that reminds me-there was this one dude we had in camp one year (i think either 2009 or 2010) who was supposedly just killing it. like there were several people on this board who were convinced he had a chance at beating out either muhammad or jarrett for the #2 wideout spot. i remember reading the live tweets and updates from camp and not a single practice went by where he wasn't hauling in highlight reel catches allegedly. then the preseason rolled around and he barely did anything and was cut. i think his name was something henderson. it's been driving me crazy.

When have you seen him in a vertical passing game like we have now ?

His limited sample size shows a good amount of long catches. That's all I really remember him doing was getting some long receptions that year.

always see his name on the depth chart....never on the field....this guy is mr irrelavent...

You saw him as a back-up TE when we played Foxball. He is NOT a big, blocking TE. He is a pass catching TE. That is something that Fox never used nor valued.

In Chud's system, the TE is another receiving threat.

You CANNOT judge his ability as a pass catching TE by looking at his statistics while playing for Fox.

We hardly used a fb last year. If he's going to see the field a lot this year I don't see how there will be room for a #2 TE.

You have to get outside of that box.

With Chud, you need to expect the unexpected. There is NO TELLING what types of formations we will see this season. Just let it happen and enjoy the ride.

maybe your right but he still hasn't done anything. so looking at his body of work leave me to conclusion that we could be fine with or without him.

Not unless we signed another TE.

Chud's system last season utilized two good pass catching TE's. Unless he changes drastically, I would expect much of the same.

Therefore, a 2nd TE is a necessity....not a luxury.

totally agreed.

now tolbert.....that's a luxury.

chud and the O will build on what they did last year. keep what worked and add new wrinkles (more pages in the playbook and a pass catching bowling ball).

I'd like to see Barnidge get a fair shot at proving what he can do on the field. Will he be able to carry over what he's done during training camp into the regular season?

i think he will. all he's needed is a coaching staff that knows how to use TEs as more than blockers and to be healthy. this year is his first chance at it. between him and tolbert we should have shockey's production more than made up for.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
