Brees: If NFL fans were told there were "weapons of mass destruction" enough times, they'd believe it. But what happens when you don't find any?

Recommended Posts

Its crazy sometimes the things people will say to defend their lies. We have all heard the tape of Gregg Williams. We've seen the late hits they had(and they were the only team I saw do this several times).

Saints* are dirty. Keep talking Brees.

Having never really found any fault in the bounties to begin with I am enjoying this more and more. Yes I am one of those that believe this happens, inferred or otherwise in every locker room. I also believe it should be. Anyway, I have enjoyed the punishments immensely throughout knowing that they were earned due to the brassiness of the Saints***** players and coaches all believing they were above the law and beyond reproach. The perpetually dismal history of this franchise is what led to their Roman Empire-like fall from autonomy because of their disbelief that the rules applied to them.

As far as Brees is concerned, his continued denial makes me believe that he actually thinks he is right but since this began he has not been what one would think he would be which is the leader telling them to step up, tell everyone to squash it, accept it, move on and try to unify them as a team at a time when the rest of the leaders have been removed. This says a great deal about what kind of "leader" he actually is. I am no longer impressed. Not in the least.

For a moment let's say that some parts of the punishment are unfair. Even then, Drew Brees, is the last guy that should be whining and in this case belittling the NFL fans in a public manner. This is in poor taste at the very best and quite possibly a large window into who Drew Brees actually is. A crybaby.

One can only construe that Drew Brees is clearly not the all-American leader he portrays himself to be. Furthermore, no-one within the Saints***** organization or among Drew's handlers and representatives have either the intelligence or the backbone to lend him any constructive advice that he will let sink in.

All along this has not been about anything the Saints***** players or Saints***** leadership has done in my eyes. It has been about how they have handled it as individuals and as an organization since the initial warnings that they were being investigated and essentially the "jig is up". That said I don't see how anyone could disagree that the way they have handled this situation has been immature, and unprofessional. For that reason and that reason alone, they deserve ridicule. As far as I am concerned they are the laughing stock of the NFL at this point and no amount of success on the field will rectify that in the near future.

They are trying to argue that Goodell was given bad information from an informant, ....

Goodell likely is limited what is released on advice of counsel given he is being sued at this point and likely will have more suits brought by each of the accused players.

Not only this but I think another side goal of these players fighting it is to draw out that 'informant', these are things they do not know an obviously there is proof that would easily reveal the informant or people involved in bringing them down. Don't want a bunch of millionares pissed you ruined part of their career/life, I am sure the informant needs a level protection that most certainley withholds information.

His denial of facts has been documented for a long time

After finishing third in the Heisman Trophy race while at Purdue, Brees again faced perhaps his biggest obstacle, this time in a room filled with talent evaluators. “They had him at 6 feet and one-eighth or two-eighths inches,” his Purdue Coach, Joe Tiller, said. “Drew said ‘No, I’m 6-1. Measure me again.’ He said, ‘That can’t be true. I know I’m 6-1.’ ”

If this all goes to court and it appears headed that way, the details will come out and any informant will be revealed. I thought it was interesting that Vilma said he expects to play day 1 as the starter at MLB for the Saints*. I expect Vilma is going to try and get an injunction against the League penalties like the players for Minnesota did with star caps and the Williams brothers to draw this out and let him play this year. I wouldn't believe anything at this point once the attorneys get into it and try and spin everything.
