JJ Jansen* (grammar nazi)

I would not rule out Armanti making this team and it appears you did not. I know most of the huddle is down on this guy but in Hurney's eyes he's a second year player. On paper he doesn't make it but if Gettis gets stashed on IR or PUP and one or two other guys go down, you could see him squeeze in.

I don't see Stanford or Pugh sticking. I would LOVE for Mare to get cut. Even if we go with someone young. I could stomach a 1st year guy missing a big FG. It just pisses me off when a kicker making almost as much as Cam, in his late 30s misses.

To Hurney's ( and to some degree Fox) the "core" plyers have remained although there have been a couple of key additions in Kuekly, Newton, Olsen and I hope Tolbert and Silatolu. I think the problem with the old regime is that once you were in the inner circle you were somewhat protected. In contrast, Rivera will kick you to the curb if you don't produce.

Those are most of the starters....but Chico is adding much better talent in the back up roles and building a good foundation.

Armanti is as good as gone. Gettis, should be fine. They're just playing it safe, making sure he's 100% before the season starts.

Smith

LaFell

Gettis

Pilares

Adams

Murphy

Don't think they'll keep more than 6 WRs.

If you run 4 wide sets and have only 6 receivers on the team you better hope no one gets hurt. Since Adams and Pilares will return kickoffs and punts as well, I wouldn't be surprised if they keep 7 and stash a few on the practice squad.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone and we have Taylor Moton inked to a recent extension. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
