Who Is this Josh Norman with all the INTS in Camp Today?

What amazes me is when he gives up a TD or gets burnt on a big play Friday the huddle persona will call him a scrub or start crying about how awful our secondary is.

On a side note, I'm starting to believe that Hogan is going to be cut. Norman has only practiced 3-4 times and he has at least shown something. Can't say that for Hogan. I thought one of the perks with Hogan was ability to play ST/KR? haven't seen that either

Because or secondary is not that great.

Every legend starts as a little bitty seed.

I'm not sold yet, but glad to have a seat on the bus in case it goes somewhere.

You go Josh.

I yell to my kids on the baseball team when they are at the plate, "Ain't nobody better than you!"

What's the difference?

Almost more interested to see when he plays, as opposed to how he plays. Of course I am giddy to see him perform against the enemy. Just curious when Rivera will throw him into the fray. My guess is he starts. If he plays well, he may come out as a reward. If however, he Zod forbid struggles, he may see a lot more snaps.

He likes to keep his eyes on the QB, which means he cannot see the WR obviously. So he compensates by using his hands to locate the WR. Offenses don't like it when you touch them. So he is going to have to learn some tricks. Gamble, no doubt, is probably coaching him up as we speak. So if the kid has the game, there should be no shortage of tutors.

Not ashamed to admit that I am truly giddy over the potential this kid has brought.

Don't get me wrong I like a confident cornerback. You need confidence out there on an island or you can get burnt. The problem is that same swagger can slow his development. He is talking like he is the 9th wonder of the world after 3 to 4 days of practice. If he thinks he is the best already what will he work to improve? Jumping routes isn't always the best thing against a guy like Drew Bree's that loves to pump fake a pass to provide spacing from athe corner or safety. I hope I am dead wrong about his work ethic and he is just having fun.

One of the first videos posted about Norman after he was drafted contained segments where his coach at CC was praising Norman for his work ethic and film study as I recall. I don't believe work ethic will be an issue. His lack of experience at the professional level will be his greatest obstacle, but that won't be an issue after awhile.

We downplay a great debut by Andrew Luck because it's just one pre season game but exult this guy after a practice. Perspective is selective in these parts. If this guy breaks up a pass whenever he gets in a game we will be building him a statue.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
