What is the Most important match up for Thursday night

I think the most important matchup Thursday night is our defense facing their offense on third down.

Anyone that has watched Eli for any amount of time during the last few years knows that he relies on a slant from the slot on third down quite often.

Anyone that has watched the panthers for any amount of time knows that third down is not a historical strong suit for the defense.

Granted, the giants may not run the slant every third down, it is still pivotal to make them punt. Stopping a team on third down is key in any game, but I think Thursday night's third down defense will be the biggest determining factor.

Thoughts?

As difficult as it is to pin down any one thing, since getting completely whipped in any one area of the game will lose it for you, I would put equal emphasis on the two line matchups. It will be key to win that matchup on both sides of the ball to avoid a situation where a coin-toss "who has the ball last" kinda game is the best possible outcome.

I think their WR's vs our DB's in going to he a battle that whoever wins this battle, will determine the winner or loser of the game....

Thing is if our D-Line wins trenches vs their O-Line we can make their WRs less effective and help out the DBs (forcing rushed / errant throws is not a bad way to make DBs look good with line play...). Our DBs will have to be on point but if you have to pick one the line should be the direction you go. Best DBs in the league can't cover good receivers forever - there has to be a functional line there.

our oline vs their dline

our dline vs. their oline

this is a battle that will be likely won in the trenches.

This 100%

If one team wins both these battles, you get a blowout.

If we split these battles, you get a close nailbiter.

Here's hoping the panthers protect Cam and pressure Eli. They do those two things, and they win this game.

    • Without looking it up because I'm lazy, so maybe I'm wrong... if I remember it was talking to both Brady and Sean Payton who were under contracts at the time, multiple times and possibly in multiple off-seasons (less certain on that last part if I'm being honest). Huge difference between that and improper communication during an active free agent time period and with a free agent.   Again, not looking it up, but think all this was, was the Falcons doctors (and others) talking to Kirk during that 2 day period, which isn't allowed. I hate the Falcons as much as the next guy, but let's also still look at things objectively and know that those two things are far from equal.
    • It goes great with a side of calcium carbonate.
    • Wasn't talking about Medicare exactly.  Medicare advantage is different.  The one my mom uses is thru blue cross and blue shield.   Medicare Advantage (Part C) | Blue Cross Blue Shield (bcbs.com) My mom has been using it for about six months now.  Before she was using a medigap program run by United Health Care and it paid almost everything, but was costing her 400 a month.  The Medicare advantage plan doesn't cost anything (the premiums are actually paid by Medicare).  Now she does have copayments, some of them for for medicine, but so far, they aren't bad.  Hers also covers dental, which medicare normally doesn't cover.   I will state though that my Mom has Medicare part b (she pays for it, but gets reimbursed by the employer my stepdad retired from).
