How to save Armanti

Awesomeness!!

Armanti Edwards has no business being on an NFL roster. How many 3rd (traded future 2nd) rd WR have 3 catches thru 3 seasons & are still on an active roster? He also has yet to do anything worth mentioning as a return man. He flat out sucks. And "he wasn't a WR in college" isn't an excuse anymore. Plenty of guys have switched from QB/DB/RB to WR in the NFL & been successful. Being a "project, hard worker, hometown guy, good guy, fan favorite" isn't cutting it anymore. AE fans argue in his favor because they know 0 of the remaining 31 teams would sign him.

It's kinda funny. Dwayne Jarrett is absolutely hated around here for being a bust & failure. Which he was. However, he had 33 receptions to Armanti's 3 after his 3rd season. Both were pretty much the exact same draft value; Jarrett #45, Armanti #89 & future 2nd. And Jarrett's QBs were Tommy-John Delhomme, Matt Moore, & Jimmy Clausen.

I grew up in Boone, NC & attended ASU for 2 years before transferring to UNC. I was there during Armanti's glory days & loved watching him. But he does not belong on an NFL field.

Perfect

If someone can play then they can play. If they can't they can't. It doesn't matter what round they are drafted. If someone has 6th round talent and was drafted in the first round they still deserve to be in the NFL.

The coaching staff doesn't believe that Edwards is deserving of getting a lot of playing time so far, and the majority of the huddle agrees with them. However the coaching staff also feels the same about Gettis and the huddle thinks they have their heads up their own backsides. What is the difference exactly?

Personally, as a fan, I'd like to see the Panthers play Armanti more and for him to be productive, but if he can't be productive (currently undetermined) or get any playing time (which looks unlikely) then he probably should be released.

You gusy obviously don't understand why we picked Armanti. Here is a hint, it wasn't for his hidden WR skills.

It was so Jerry Richardson could pocket money from App St homers who buy tickets, concessions, beer, & merchandise to see their golden boy play for his joke of a franchise. Mr. Richardson is an excellent businessman.

This difference is that Armanti has been given ample opportunity. He's been the punt returner for 2 years and has consistently been the worst in the entire league at his job. He has played quite a bit on offense this season, too, 17 snaps against Denver and about the same since then. He can't get open.

Gettis hasn't been given the same chance.

Mr. Richardson will have 4 rules when interviewing potential GMs.

1) Steve Smith is like a son to me & is untouchable.

2) Cam Newton is my QB & untouchable.

3) Armanti Edwards makes me a ton of money off his App St saps. He is also untouchable.

4) Go buy some Bojangles, son.

The only option I see keeping Armani is to cut Clausen and let Armani hold the clip board and be 3rd QB option. He could be used as a utility player at punt return on kick return in a pinch if a player goes down. We get three for one (Clausen). Win Win
