Got to think with all of those interview's lined up that a decision on Rivera will likely come before we make a hire. Its no guarantee that we even land Ross or that he's the only interview we still have lined up.

The more I think about it the less I think we fire Rivera. Jerry still owes Rivera 5.6 million for the final 2 years left on his contract. He will likely end up paying the next GM at least as much if not more than he paid Hurney.

Of course you never know whats going through JR's mind as he rarely speaks to media or any public outlet about his plans for the team.

I understand that. One thing to take note on is I believe JR is really trying to take his time because he doesn't want to make a move that may cause him a chance at Marc Ross or any other GM. I'm not saying that they might not want to keep Rivera. But the choice should be up to them unless JR is going to fire Rivera himself.

You definitely have to take the Panthers in that scenario.

I agree if we are just talking about the roster BUT if I had to choose between working for JR or Woody Johnson, Im picking the Jets. Since JR decided to come out from behind the curtain in 2010, he dosent seem like the nice old man we all thought he was.

Panthers have a great young core and starting QB with a bright future. The Jets have no QB a mediocre at best offesnse with holes at WR, OL, HB, QB, TE basically everything. The only thing they have going for them is the city and the defense.

Oh and both our cap "situations" suck.

Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross has reportedly lined up interviews with the Panthers, Jets, Jaguars, and Chargers.

Giants GM Jerry Reese referred to Ross as "the hot prospect" for GM jobs, and that certainly appears to be the case now. A finalist in Chicago last year, Ross is viewed as a good communicator and evaluator with "an executive skill set," as one Giants official told NFL Network's Albert Breer. Ross has been considered an early favorite in Carolina. Jan. 3 - 2:20 pm et

I love JR. I think he's a gentleman and a bad ass. He doesn't take any poo and has a big heart. To big a heart which is what I think has gotten the Panthers into the most trouble over the years. Hanging on to players and a certain general manager he thought of as family instead of seeing them as assets.

If we miss on Ross or whomever it won't be because Jerry didn't do everything he could to get his guy. Unless Ross just wants to stay in NY or doesn't want to move his family we're a much better organization with a better owner than the Jets.

Yep... I don't think a high profile candidate will look at Charlotte and say "wow, that's where I can make a name for myself".

Yet there a poo-ton of people that move here every year from NY and other parts Yankee. People talk poo about Charlotte then move here.
